A judge dismissed two murder charges related to acts of terrorism as Luigi Mangione, the accused killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, made his first Manhattan courtroom appearance in five months on Tuesday.
Judge Gregory Carro tossed out the most severe charge, first-degree murder, accusing Mangione of murder as a crime of terrorism.

Disgraceful!
I’m actually glad that this happened because gives these sick Leftists another opportunity to show how depraved they are. Keep driving home the point that they have a blood lust for political murder until it can’t be excused away by anyone.
Terrorism was always a reach. Murder is in the bag. Of course the lawyer will attempt to try the victim.
Plenty of time to prepare a better case for terrorism that will stand up in court. Get the murder charge now, it is clear cut. Present the terrorism later when the case is firmed up and we can tie in accomplices via conspiracy.
The pro-murder party at it again....
His lawyer could be as persuasive as Atticus Finch and just as unsuccessful.
Murder charges seem sufficient anyways.
Speaking of Atticus Finch could one of you learned folk explain what the title is about in To Kill a Mockingbird?
Pardon my ignorance.....
He can later be charged again with terrorism?
Yes
If it is a separate crime by statute. Kind of like civil rights violation or hate crimes that can be added later.
Democrats’ love of murder and general violence is killing their party. Americans are running away from the Dem party in droves.
So what... it’s a straight murder 1 hump, premeditated with all the trimmings. Prisonboy won’t be liking life much... unless he’s another partyboy like Richard Speck.
Since terrorism is intended to frighten a great number of people, but Mangione only killed one guy who he targeted for a specific reason, it was reasonable to drop the terrorism charge. Your mileage may vary.
“ Speaking of Atticus Finch could one of you learned folk explain what the title is about in To Kill a Mockingbird?”
It was declared by Atticus at some point in the story that is was bad luck to kill a mockingbird, that they did no harm and minded their own business.

For 20 years the left has been complaining because millions of Americans DON’T have health insurance. They then pass the ACA which allows anyone to get insurance AFTER they have the cancer diagnosis or heart attack, paying the same price as everyone else who paid for their insurance their entire lives. The ACA competes with the insurance companies by offering insurance at a lower price, paid for by taxpayers (Obamacare). The government lets 25 million uninsured illegal aliens into the country who BY LAW cannot be denied medical care, and who pay nothing for it (emergency room care). The hospitals have to pay for this and the insurance company has to pay more to keep the hospital from going bankrupt. The left systematically destroys the health care system and the insurance system. Then the left kills the executives because the insurance companies raise their premiums or deny coverage for “Skyrizi” and thousands of other drugs that do more harm than good for dreaded conditions like “plaque psoriasis”, and for Mounjaro for people who can’t simply put down a fork or do some exercise.
at the end of the book, the recluse who saved the children by killing their attacker is referred to as a mockingbird, and both the Sheriff and the girl child Scout tell the father that revealing his heroism to the public would destroy him in his shyness, i.e. Scout tells her father it would be like killing a Mockingbird.
it also has reference to Tom the man accused of rape, whose only sin was trying to help the girl who accuses him: I.e. like the mockingbird he was helping not harming her, and that made his death a double tragedy.
HOW THE HELL is his murder charge “second degree”??? This was a long-planned, pre-meditated murder.
