I am old enough to have see the progressives celebrate the death of other conservatives and they were just as hateful and vile as the ones directed at Charlie Kirk, but I noticed a difference, this time there was pushback, this time there was a price to pay for their hate, and I wondered why, what was the difference, and more importantly is this a one off, or is this a new direction for us?

This time, it was a likeable man with ties on both sides. A man who was trying to bridge the gaps with real discussion. It sadly, is probably why he was assassinated — he was too good at it.

There is a stark difference with the death’s the left celebrated before like Reagan, or Thatcher, they died of natural causes. Charlie Kirk was assassinated, and celebrating it is condoning assassination, it is a line that in civil society should not be crossed.

It is also a serious concern with increasing frequency of these politically violent incidences from the multiple attempts on Trump to the Minnesota lawmakers just 3 months ago to Kirk.

My friends (not close) and family (close) celebrated when Reagan and Limbaugh died. Those appalled me, but those were natural deaths. Murder of a very young father is evil. To celebrate that is to celebrate cruelty and barbarity. They have crossed the rubicon (again).

Usually, I think, the leadership of the Left is in charge of the hit - like Butler, PA.

This time, they may not have been. This “stochastic terrorism” and control of it, is new to them.

The chickens of COVID that the Left unleashed have not yet come home to roost. This lunatic was off to college during the lockdowns. What will COVID lockdowns produce in grade schoolers? Kindergarteners?

The Right should also pay more attention. The voting machines aren’t called “Dominion” and the on-line surreptitious communication isn’t called “Discord” for no reason.

I’d say the fact this murder was captured on camera following quickly after the release of the video of the murder of Iryna Zarutska multiplied the impact it had on the public. It’s harder to distance oneself when the murder is shown that explicitly. Both of them hit you like a gut punch.

The only right direction is Jesus. If those that mock our Lord do not turn away from sin, hate, lust and return to the Lord, all man-directed efforts will fail because there is no light without Jesus and we all need the Light to be able to see the truth.

There is still time, there is still hope, until the last breath one can come back to Jesus, I just pray.

I hope people don’t think this is blasphemy but he is one of the closet men to Jesus in my lifetime. He was basically going out into the masses and preaching. He converted many, many people and inspired them to lead a better life. He was the model of a “good man”.

They killed him thinking it would shut him up but doing so created a martyr. Millions of people who prior to his death never heard of Charlie Kirk now know and have heard his words. They killed a saint and will have to suffer the consequences of their actions...

Those that celebrated this assassination unveiled themselves as psychopaths, without empathy, unable to function in society due to lack of trust this exposes. You can’t TRUST them. If they can do this without compunction, what else will they do?

Something to note: When George Floyd, a convicted criminal and drug addict, was killed, the Left took to the streets, burned buildings, murdered store owners, locked police in their station and set fire to it, and stoked similar actions in a dozen cities across the nation.

When Charlie Kirk is murdered, a decent man who tried to create dialog between Left and Right, and is far more deserving of violent reaction than George Floyd, the Right’s reaction was somber, real, deeply-felt, but NOT violent. And therein is the difference between Conservatives and Liberals. Conservatives acted as any reasonable adult would to such a heinous act. Liberals act like spoiled children who don’t get their way, so they start destroying things.

Methinks there is a message here...

Those mockers are paying the price - the same price conservatives pay when they say something lefties don't like - loss of job/career and fines.

My wife, myself, and a lot of our friends have all found ourselves hit much harder by this than we might have expected. I think the reason is suggested by the type of comments that have most affected us - Mike Rowe saying "it's like the Constitution was put up against a wall, and the the First Amendment was shot", and Jay Leno's "it's like the death of free speech."

It wasn't just the death of a person, but the death of maybe the single most important principle in a republic - that we are all free to speak, and that we decide disagreements by debate and voting. And sure, that principle has been under assault for awhile, but this was different because Charlie Kirk basically embodied that principle. He just...spoke. Not a politician, but just someone engaging in public debate against opponents. And there are large numbers of people out there celebrating his assassination.

I tried to think if some lefty who wasn't a politician but just a talker, like Cenk Uygur or someone like that, was assassinated, and I'd be horrified for the same reason.

A few on the left get it. Bernie Sanders made a very good statement about Charlie in particular - but he was pointedly not joined by AOC. The vast majority of other Democrats have made vague, generalized "violence isn't the answer" speeches, but have shied away from taking about Charlie Kirk specifically so as not to antagonize their base.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk, and the reaction to it, is like the tolling of the bell for the Republic. We are about to become something else.

IMHO...others were politicians that died of natural causes. Others that died from murder weren’t that well known, or at least their deep beliefs and opinions weren’t, and they weren’t as visible.

Charlie changed a generation. The college campus has changed from being hostile to openly welcoming, with massive crowds. Those that listened to him, which were countless and global, saw a man that was deeply committed to Jesus and was *always* respectful with those he debated, even when mocked and ridiculed.

Those that didn’t listen to him, that only heard their echo-chamber calling him “racist, anti-woman, white supremacist”, thought they could react with their usual vile hatred because this is what they thought most people believed as the media tells them so. The assumption Charlie was marginal, not mainstream.

Maybe it’s a combination:

- Woke died, some on the left still didn’t get the memo
- Many have left the Democrats because of their perversion and hatred toward ANYONE else
- PDJT empowers us to feel like we can have our opinion publicly
- We are finished with the “trans agenda”, we told them to not come after kids, they didn’t listen
- Charlie was far more popular than they realized
- Charlie was far more articulate, educated, armed with the gospel, reasoned, data based, ...
- Charlie was murdered in front of his kids and family
- Charlie was murdered because the left couldn’t debate him
- Dumbing down the debate to labels of “racist”, “white supremacist” has expired - it’s intellectually weak

If you’re going to celebrate his murder, you’re stepping into a world where you’re saying it’s OK to kill somebody because you disagree with them, on top of not even having listened to him.

That’s not a world any sane person wants. It’s vile and evil. It exposes these people for being just that. Why would any employer want that around their other employees? It’s just asking for violence. They miscalculated his importance, as well as his civility that highlights their insanity.

the thing is.. there is a huge difference between celebrating the natural death of someone you oppose and celebrating his murder by one of your allies.

Random musings ...

Big Politics (both sides but more likely the left) had CK killed because it was likely that he would be a strong candidate for POTUS after JD Vance completes his 8 years. The possibility of 19 uninterrupted years of Republican rule is completely unacceptable to BP. The graft must flow.

Another possibility is Big Education. The trend of youth to the right is disrupting the lesson plans of all the tenured communists in the classrooms. Being challenged in class by open-minded free-thinking youth is unacceptable - just who the eff do they think they are talking to?

They didn’t celebrate this much when Rush died and his was a natural death and he tormented them with facts for decades.

No this time, they killed a young man they are trying to demonize, but its mostly not working and he was young, had a young pretty wife with two small children.

Also, Iryna death just recently hit and people are already on edge about that. We have “fatigue” and we have had enough. No more hiding the facts, no more lying about us calling us Nazis, and fascists. No more accepting the narrative.

They don’t know how close they have us from going over to a bad place that they can’t win.
