Alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson appears to have been a member of a bizarre Steam group named “Read This If Your Gay,” a title that eerily mirrors the mocking inscription “If you read this, you are gay LMAO,” which was etched on a bullet casing at the crime scene. Steam is a video game platform that lets you play, discuss, and create games on your computer.
The group’s profile featured cartoonish imagery, including anime-style characters, underscoring the meme-driven world in which Robinson and his associates seem to have operated.
Incredibly, members of the group were issued a frantic warning to switch to encrypted chats just hours after the fatal shooting but before Robinson’s arrest, indicating that they may have had information about the shooter.
A cryptic announcement was posted in the group on September 10 at 11:24 PM, mere hours after Kirk’s shooting, but crucially before Robinson’s arrest.
Penned by a user named “CHERRY SYLVEON,” the message warned: “be careful over sh-t you say online end to end encryption messaging platforms like signal exists for a reason or just use PGP and yes, this is directly referencing a very specific thing that happened.”
This post urged caution and encrypted communication, strongly implying insider knowledge of the assassination.

Steam is more Discord. Steam sells games that you download so you don’t have to use disc to install the game. Various games have dedicated chats and sub chats for friends who play together kind of the Walmart of gaming
It also goes without saying that Steam, like Discord are mere platforms (think usenet for us old fogies).
So don't freak out if your teen is using these. It doesn't necessarily mean they are becoming violent, transgender furries.
Both of my teen boys have accounts on these platforms, as do all of their friends. And they are both wildly pro-MAGA (as their friends are) and deeply horrified at Kirk's murder.
