That's what we do, isn't it?
“He would be Impeached by the House but the Senate would not convict”
If that is the best that can be hoped for.,I’LL TAKE IT!
What evidence do you have for that? These things aren’t done without preparation.
Now we know. Obama had total control of the alphabet agencies in DC. And he had his puppet in charge.
Typically, the POTUS was tired of being the figurehead. Can't wait to leave the swamp.
I would love to see Eisen B.!!! Slapped into a max security cell. I don’t believe in karma but I love it when it is served up.
Funny thing...I seldom see her on FOX
Comer frigging lives there
But tye Violet Beauregards want it NOW
Easily overcome in this case.
Mens rea and presidential immunity:
The Supreme Court’s ruling in Trump v. United States acknowledged that mens rea can be relevant in determining whether an action is an official act or not. For example, if a president’s actions are alleged to have been taken with the intent to benefit their political campaign rather than in furtherance of their official duties, that could be relevant in determining if the actions are subject to immunity.
Obama, et al, had criminal intent.
Nothing. Will. Happen.
What happened to all that noise about the auto-pen?
Wherever it went, this is going there soon too.
Lucy. Football.
It’s OK to go after 0bama’s white half.
“Obama cannot be impeached since he is no longer president.”
————
I am not sure about that. The effect of an impeachment, and, obviously, conviction, would be to eliminate any possibility that the person in question could ever serve in any federal office in the future. (which was the intent of the second impeachment of Trump), and also to possibly lead to the revocation of any pension related to the position from which the impeachment arose. At this point, Obama being worth somewhere north of $100 million would make the revocation of his pension almost meaningless from a purely financial point of view, but I would love to see his reputation forever linked to criminal misuse of power and to being the only president ever to have been convicted after being impeached. Yes, of course, I know that that will never happen, but I can dream, can’t I?
A private $60 million GrummGulfstream jet departed JFK earlier this evening headed to towards Europe with restricted it’s flight movements.....wonder who’s on board...LOL
Could be anyone!
There are a lot of ways this could play out. One scenario is that Obama is so discredited by the investigation that, regardless of whether he could be convicted for this specific crime, the country, as a whole, turns on him. Now suddenly taboo questions like “Was Obama really born here?” are no longer verboten. If that issue was finally investigated and led to it being shown that he was never qualified to be President, then everything changes.
But even leaving his NBC status aside, how many other crimes has Obama committed since leaving office or before entering office that the public would no longer view as being off limits?
I heard a caller on the radio today make a comparison to O.J. Simpson. With O.J., even though he wasn’t convicted of murder, he spent the rest of his life as a non-person, in total disgrace. A similar fate would await Obama if the public were shown he was guilty but he wasn’t able to be prosecuted because of a legal technicality.
“..Could be anyone!...”
Of cours, that’s quite true. However, there’s just not too many “anyones” that can lease/own a $60 million jet for $15,000/hr and restrict it’s data.
But yeah, it could be anyone...or, it could be one or two of our crooks skipping the USA>
The United States Senate is a SNAKE PIT.
They are all SNAKES.
Senators and former senators are NOT to be trusted.
It transcends so-called opposition parties.
The senate is the uniparty stronghold.
I learned that lesson the hard way.
I thought Little Beauregard Session was a TRUE conservative and Trump’s best pick for his first cabinet.
Was I ever wrong he was the first guy inside Trump’s tent to stab him in the pack and I guess you could say Benedict Pence was the last.
What did each have in common?
Their senate tenure was a master class in treachery.
I don’t trust the newest of Trump’s senate picks either.
Rubio and Vance were Trump haters of the first degree and there are receipts to prove that.
Although there are folk on this forum who want to give Vance’s Nazi references a pass.
He learned treachery first hand in the senate.
Both he and Little Marco appear to be behaving.
But I think Trump has gone off the rails with his Ukraine policy and methinks Vance and Little Marco are very sympathetic to their senate buddies Linda Graham and Stolen Valor Cotton.
Cotton is in the mold of that other Never Trumper Arkansan Asa Hutchinson.
