Today’s Wall Street Journal carries Alan Dershowitz’s column “The inside scoop on Jeffrey Epstein.” He was Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyer. That’s his opening sentence. He knows the facts. That’s his second sentence. Some of what he knows he can’t disclose because it is privileged (he doesn’t say the privilege is, but I assume attorney-client — the privilege survives the client’s death). That’s the third sentence.
These are the takeaways from the column mixed with a few comments of my own.
• Epstein never created a “client list.” The FBI interviewed alleged victims who named several “clients.” These names have been redacted and the related records sealed. The names specified may or may not be accurate. The names do not include any current officeholders. The courts have also sealed negative information about some of the accusers to protect them.
• President Trump reportedly banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago, long before becoming president. Dershowitz has seen nothing that would suggest anything improper or even questionable with Epstein on Trump’s part.
• Dershowitz expresses “absolutely no doubt” that Epstein never worked for an intelligence agency. “If he had, he would surely have told me and his other lawyers, who would have used that information to get him a better deal.” Epstein was unsatisfied with the plea deal he got.
• I don’t know about that. If Epstein had been exposed as or revealed that he was an Israeli (or some other foreign government’s) intelligence asset, he might have gotten the Jonathan Pollard treatment.
• Dershowitz’s sources in Israel have confirmed to him that Epstein had no connection to Israel.
• Well, they would say that, wouldn’t they? I can hear Carlson’s maniacal laughter.
• Dershowitz attributes “[t]hat false story—recently peddled by Tucker Carlson” to “credible allegations that Robert Maxwell (1923-91), father of Epstein’s former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, worked with the Mossad.”
• I would say that gives Carlson too much credit. I think it more likely that they derive from something akin to the slimy calculations that brought us this.
Is there a connection between this secret nuclear program and the JFK assassination? @jeffersonmorley gives insight. pic.twitter.com/VvfS67E7Ec— Tucker Carlson Network (@TCNetwork) January 31, 2025
Scott Adams, who generally has excellent insight on this type of thing, says Epstein would have been stupid to maintain a client list. Whatever they are withholding, it's not Epstein's client list, which never existed in all likelihood.
Scott is spot on! I like his Coffee with Scott Adams videos.
They just need to release everything.
We are adults who can analyze information .
Trump’s stonewalling indicates he is being untruthful, MEGA knows it and is not giving it up so it will cause many to just stay home come mid-terms... Maybe he wants an impeachment...
What is not explained is how Epstein went from being a Math teacher to a fabulously wealthy individual who could buy and build what was on his island and consort with the world’s elite and powerful and wealthy.
“Epstein’s client list”
It has been alleged that Epstein was gathering blackmail material on powerful people.
This material has been thought to include videotapes.
Read up on the Leon black, Apollo, and Epstein saga. You can start to see how it works.
Btw, did trump just happen to read an article by Ben black and decide to hire him to handle billions and billions of dollars?
Given the lengths trump is going to for the protection of Epstein I have to wonder.
Also because the Democrats were in power for four years do you think if there were “Client lists” that incriminated any big wheels in both parties available and there was no action to “cleanse them”?
Nice damage control article lasereye!
Why won’t these people who want the truth, just go away?
Or released the info if it was that bad for Trump and R’s? Notice they didn’t.
“ Scott Adams, who generally has excellent insight on this type of thing, says Epstein would have been stupid to maintain a client list. Whatever they are withholding, it’s not Epstein’s client list, which never existed in all likelihood.”
I have been saying this forever! Mayflower you ain’t as smart as you think you are.
You mean you hope they stay home right?
“Mayflower you ain’t as smart as you think you are.”
Huh?
A judge sealing evidence only precludes its public disclosure.
This does NOT prevent the FBI and DOJ using that evidence to track down perps and issue indictments.
They do not need the victim’s permission and, given the video evidence (which Bondi has described as hundred of hours of child pornography), they won’t even need the victim’s testimony. Any reference to the ID of the victims could continue to be withheld publicly.
Epstein’s blackmail operation would be useless unless the video was clear enough to identify the perps, otherwise, they’d say “you can’t make me out in that!” and not subscribe to the blackmail.
SO the fact that they are not pursuing any charges is because they don’t want to.
The swamp has won. They’re just holding off a bit until Trump leaves office.
Then we will be totally screwed.
And so will Trump, and those working with him, because they will have no reason not resume the lawfare as punishment when he leaves office.
The only way to stop THAT is to hit back at the swamp - use the Epstein perps to begin tracing the blackmail op back to the government.
Biden and the autopen- that has seriously damaged this country. That, and Mayorkas’ actions in government under Biden. I’m not saying to drop Epstein all together, but we need to go after the bigger fish.
It says the author is Scott Johnson, not Scott Adams.
MEGA? "Make Epstein Great Again"?
Surely you know by now that the actual Trump acronym is MAGA.
