I know a few people on Phoonix. I’d rather try snatching raw meat away from a hungry tiger than taking their coffee away.

“The problem is caffeine, which is the key ingredient in coffee. Caffeine acts as a diuretic, meaning it can make you lose fluids faster and increase the risk of dehydration.“
Chick logic. Like beer, it’s 99% water. The hydration value actually exceeds its diuretic value. You won’t hydrate as much as you would with pure water only, but if you are in a desert, only a fool would pass up coffee or beer.

If all the Californians need to get hydrated, what are they gonna do in the next fire season. Newsome and Bass will probably come up with a urination tax to be used to dismantle a couple more reservoirs.

I’ve been hearing that lie for years. “Don’t drink beer when you’re working outside in the summer. You will dehydrate.” Tell them to the Modelo chuggers who roof around here.
To: Enterprise
This "expert" has probably never lived in Arizona. We know how to cope with our summers like people up north and back east cope know how to cope with their winters. Most people are in air conditioned cars or buildings all day. If you're a construction worker or someone else outside all day, you learn real fast to keep hydrated with water. It's considered good manners to offer a visitor a cold bottle of water if they've just come in from being in the heat.
Yeah, we have dummies here (mostly newcomers) that will work outside or go hiking in the heat without the proper precautions, just like in snow country some people die of exposure to the cold, but those are exceptions.

I guess they haven’t heard of air conditioning.

Exactly. Grok explains this article is pure, unadulterated BS...
Coffee has a net positive hydration effect. Despite its diuretic properties, the water content in coffee (about 95-99% for black coffee) outweighs the mild fluid loss caused by caffeine. Studies, like one from the Journal of the American College of Nutrition (2014), show that moderate coffee consumption (up to 4 cups daily) contributes to daily fluid intake and doesn’t significantly dehydrate you. Factors like caffeine tolerance and added ingredients (e.g., sugar or cream) can slightly alter this, but overall, coffee hydrates more than it dehydrates.
I'd trust Grok's vast "research" a million times more than the "experts" the idiot author interviewed.

LOL. AS IF. You might as well ask a meth addict to put down the pipe. You can slam 2 liters of water after your morning coffee. It is not that hard to hydrate. If you are really worried about it and you don’t care about sugar consumption, slam a large Gatorade after your morning coffee.
Quit coffee in a heat wave. LOL. Right. Yeah. Sure. Morons. These people are f’g morons.

With a record-breaking heatwave sweeping across the Southwest...
Anyone over 20 years old around here in Norcal would know that not only are we not having a record-breaking heatwave, but it is actually cooler than usual for June. Still warm, though, but that's Cali for you. So I think I'll have that second cup. See you all in hell.
