It is a fantasy that just will not die. Another Kremlin security scare, another flash of speculation online, another round of breathless commentary. Maybe someone is finally trying to kill Vladimir Putin. Maybe that is what it will take to end the war. One clean shot. One collapsing regime. Peace at last.
But if that idea is serious – if we are not just indulging a lurid Western daydream – then we need to ask a much harder question.

I kind of feel the same about America. That is why it breaks my heart that so many Americans hate the good in it.
They are responsible for him. They helped make him.
This article brought to you by the Russian Secret Service.
Yeah.. I’ll pass on this one.
>> “When did the Z Man get re-elected?” <<
He didn’t. He won’t allow elections by using martial law.
Even Klitschko, the Mayor of Kyiv is now in battle with the little dictator.
The president (dictator) has used martial law to appoint a rival military administration in the capital to mirror the mayor’s responsibilities.)

When Putin dies (by assassin or otherwise)... The power vacuum and civil war that ensues will consume Russia, and they will be too busy fixing their broken autocratic society, to be bothered fighting a useless and nonsensical war against the Ukraine.
That has been my argument since day 1.
Magnitude of “worse” is perhaps more apropos.

To answer your rhetorical question: by over a 70% of national vote, that’s how Zelensky was elected.
Elected by over 70% of the vote..I’m guessing the Ukraine has a bunch of liberals then. Or it was stolen. How much U.S. interference?
Until about a month ago I would have disagreed, but not I'm not so sure.
Removing Zelenski from the board would solve a lot of problems
US disengagement from both sides. Isolate Russia with tough sanctions and bring as many others into the sanctions against Russia. Europe cannot buy energy from Russia.
I don’t care which side claims they’re right or who started or us to blame for tge the war. All I know is US can’t be sucked into wasting blood and treasure.
I agree with you, but there are always unintended consequences.
Bingo!
Regards,
1) Putin's aim is to grab as much territory as possible.
2) Zelenskyy's bosses want to prolong the profitable war as much as possible.
NATO ruling class types seemingly have no interest (or are actively opposed) to
preserving the citizens of their own countries. Why suppose they care anything
about Ukrainians?
I think the russhie are not targeting the Z for the same reason the allies weren’t all in on getting rid of Hitl@r. The decisions he makes are so asinine and self defeating that getting rid of him might lead to someone more competent.
I hope you are right. There are some in the West that consider him a loose end when the accounting is done for all the funds that were given to him.
If there is frustration in Russia, it's because Putin has been too restrained in conducting the war.
They would have. They took out Yamamoto given the chance. They would have waxed Hitler in a heartbeat. There would have been no lack of volunteers.
