The incidence exploded around the mid-90s from what therapists told me.

One said the whole office had to go for re-training back then because they had no experience with autism.

I think she was an occupational therapist.

In my view, when read with discernment, the evidence is already in the published research as to the cause of autism: genetic abnormalities due to inadequate Vitamin D and magnesium in the American diet.

You do realize, I hope, how fervently and underhandedly pharma has pushed that explanation.

I don't understand the varying degrees of Autism. Some are so off regarding their dis-connections to society/world we used to call them retards.

As I watched a show yesterday they had couples that looked and interacted and articulated like regular couples in their discussions about their emotions towards each other and life in general. I would be hard-pressed to consider either one of the couples to be autistic. Yes, one of the men was kinda odd, but I would consider that to be part of his personality.

There are a wide variety of circumstances in which kids diagnosed with ASD have nutritional deficiencies. They also have a reduced ability to clear common plastic additives like BPA from their bodies, or at least mothers with increased exposure tend to give birth to more boys with autism or ADHD.
Best guess it disrupts critical neurological development by acting as an xenoestrogen, mimicking estrogen and hijacking the brain’s normal hormone signaling mechanisms. One thing for sure, we won’t know the exact cause in six months.

Part of the overdiagnosis is that standards have changed.

What was within the "normal" spectrum when I was kid is now probably considered outside the spectrum.

It's somewhat paradoxical, because we used to ascribe problem behaviors to personality defects that could be "remediated" through proper discipline delivered by both parents and peers.

Meanwhile, those kinds of social norms have decayed. Just think of how sloppy we dress and how vulgar the language used in public now is when compared to the past.

Social norms focused on self-control have been replaced by "non-judgmental" notions of therapy for "disorders."

And as social norms have decayed, encouraging bad behavior, we have responded with ever more draconian and intrusive laws. A couple of drinks too many? Thousands of dollars in DUI costs and possible jail time. A fistfight resulting in nothing more than bruises will get you 90 days in the county jail. Gun storage, seat belts, helmet laws, every device in your home regulated to the point of dysfunction, etc., etc.

You can't live in a free society when many in the normal spectrum are subject to "therapy" or even worse criminal prosecution while every private action to encourage social order from disciplining kids to delivering a deserved knuckle sandwich is viewed as criminal.

Agree with most of what you say.
But I do think there is an increase in kids with real problems,
Kids that sit and stare at a wall or truly behaving oddly. Something is causing the brains to wired differently .

I think it’s something in a home, as I said before maybe carpet or some other building material .
Possibly giving too many vaccines all together .

But I agree with you that there is a whole industry to over diagnose relatively normal behavior .

I wonder how many of the near masters in their craft, throughout history, would have been adjudicated by someone as being autistic in today’s world?

In raw numbers, I tend to agree with you.

But I don't think the cause is so much organic as social.

Think of the number of divorces, the parents trying to maintain a middle class lifestyle as wages fall, the lunacy of social media, smaller families, etc.

Taking a guess here... awareness and more testing for it.
*****
Another guess ... the financial benefits to the mental health establishment from diagnoses of autism and other mental conditions.

we have the Amish community to compare against main stream America...

but we also have Russia and other first world countries that do not use America’s big pharma.

While the Amish have been slowly using more of big pharma products, and as a result have seen some health consequences, Russia does not. Russia doesn’t have the autism issues or chronic health issues.

it’s almost as if an industry that makes money ‘managing care’ for citizens is motivated (for some unknown reason...) to continue keeping those citizens in need of more care

Because he DOES have the evidence? Just needs to compile and format it properly, probably.

He should get DOGE to get it done faster. September might be too late for some.

‘ Russia doesn’t have the autism issues or chronic health issues.’

Doubtful. Russia’s self reporting is dubious at best.

That does not refute the essential roles of Vitamin D and magnesium in human biology, nor does it get Pharma off the hook.

But tying that stuff to autism is meant to give an explanation beyond and different from the obvious, so as to let the coerced carnage continue.

Autism seems to have a major genetic aspect that implicates maternal and paternal factors, some innate, but mostly acquired. Notably, Vitamin D and magnesium both have key roles in DNA and RNA synthesis and repair. Magnesium in particular is involved in over a thousand enzymatic processes in the cell.

In some cases though, individual neurological factors seem to be at work in autism, often with immune reactions involved. There are a handful of reports in which an antibiotic or antiviral drug was curative.

Vaccines = brain inflammation, brain damage or death aka SIDS.

We waited until 5 y.o. to vaccinate our daughter. Best decision we ever made. My son was vaccinated on schedule and was not so lucky.

Not really. My thinking is that infection or trauma or a toxic or immune reaction may cause damage that the body cannot resolve due to inadequate vitamin D and magnesium. With such inadequacies common, if the trauma is a vaccination that causes autism, the vaccine is the proximate cause and accrues heavy legal responsibility. Moreover, if I am correct, then autism may to a considerable degree be remedied with nutritional supplementation and antioxidants.

Those are both correlated with numerous other cofactors. A rough estimate might be half the global population is at subclinical Vitamin D.
