Things exploded on Fox News Channel’s “The Five” when the show’s woke co-host, the much-detested Jessica Tarlov, tried accusing Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk of corruption, insinuating that he was profiting off of his DOGE-connected oversight of businesses in which he has a financial interest. Elon bashed her claims to smithereens with a brilliant depiction of how DOGE actually works.
As background, Elon, as the head of DOGE, has to deal with all of the federal agencies as he tries to root fraud and waste out of federal spending to save taxpayers money, which means some of his work touches on the agencies that regulate Tesla. Tarlov used that, when he appeared on “The Five” on Tuesday, April 1, to accuse him of corruption.
Beginning, Tarlov joked about the domestic terror campaign against Tesla, saying that she hadn’t followed the liberal activists’ lead and set fire to Teslas owned by her sister. She said, “OK. Well, liberal Tesla lover here. My sister has two in her family, so have not thrown any Molotov cocktails recently.”
Continuing, Tarlov suggested that Elon is involved in corruption through DOGE, given the federal agencies that have been attacking Tesla that he is now overseeing. She asked, “But I wanted to talk to you about what DOGE has been doing. So you have been making cuts to a lot of the agencies that have open investigations and regulatory battles with your companies. At the same time, you continue to get billions in government contracts. Tesla gets billions in subsidies. How do you explain that to the American people?”
Elon shut that down by bringing the facts, noting that everything DOGE does is available for taxpayers to review. He said, “Well, everything that DOGE does is an open book. So we’re, I think, the most transparent action, the most transparent organization in government every. Every single DOGE action is listed on the DOGE.gov Web site. It’s also listed on the X handle.”
Continuing, Elon said that if people take issue with what DOGE is doing and are convinced that there’s corruption, they are entirely free to point out what issues they have with its actions. He said, “So if anyone has a concern about any one of those actions, they can bring that up. They can raise that. And I do want to say, like, sometimes, we make a mistake. Nobody bats 1000. We will at times make a mistake. And we will make a mistake. We will act very quickly to correct it. I am under such an extreme spotlight, so much scrutiny, that it is literally impossible for me to get away with anything nefarious, and, obviously, nor do I wish to.”
Building on that, he argued that the “radical transparency” of DOGE is what sets it apart and ensures that what mistakes are made aren’t corruption, telling Tarlov, “So this is a case where we have radical transparency. We’re actually willing to admit that we do make mistakes. Often, people are not willing to admit they make mistakes, but we are.”
Concluding, Musk argued that whatever Democrats of Tarlov’s ilk say, the American people are all on board with DOGE’s mission. He said, “And — but we want to emphasize we fix them quickly and we’re trying to do the right thing for the American taxpayer, for the American people. And I think history will be the judge that what we have done here and what we’re doing is a very good thing for the strength and future of America.”

Failing to mention that Jessica Tarlov's head spins around like Linda Blair's, and Tarlov projectile-vomits Commie Talking Points continually.
I am always impressed when Elon Musk spends his precious time dealing with people who could not succeed at an entry-level McDonald’s job. I love watching him, his mind racing with incredible speed, and trying to express ideas.
Musk adopted a motto for several businesses, and especially SpaceX: The Best Part Is No Part. Keep it simple. Many media people would end up in the “we do not need this part” bucket.
I think Jessica had a reasonable question (for a Trump hater) and Elon had a very well reasoned and detailed answer.
