‘No Accountability’: Dems Calling For Hegseth’s Ouster Trip Over AWOL Lloyd Austin
Daily Wire ^ | March 30, 2025 | Virginia Kruta

Posted on 03/30/2025 7:52:27 PM PDT by Red Badger

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings laid into the Democrats who are calling for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s ouster over the Signal-chat SNAFU that resulted in The Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg being added to a chat group discussing military strikes on Houthi terrorists.

In the wake of President Donald Trump’s assurance that he does not plan to fire anyone over the Signal incident, Jennings joined Sunday’s broadcast of “State of the Union” and pointed out the hypocrisy of Democrats who were calling for Hegseth’s head despite remaining silent when military leadership under President Joe Biden made decisions that resulted in the deaths of 13 American service-members. He also pointed out the fact that many had remained silent when then-Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin effectively went AWOL — leaving a subordinate in charge while he was hospitalized, but failing to apprise even the White House of the situation.

“If you’re trying to assess ‘what should we do about it,’ I hear Democrats arguing, ‘Well, we should fire Pete Hegseth,’ or, ‘We should fire the National Security Adviser,'” Jennings began. “The bar for firing people like this is really high from the last administration when after the Afghanistan withdrawal, which was a disaster, people died, no accountability was meted out. After the drone strike that vaporized those poor kids and that family, no accountability. After the secretary of defense went AWOL, no accountability.”

“So if you’re arguing today that we should get rid of Pete Hegseth over a small mistake regarding communications — even while he was expertly executing this military operation against the Houthi rebels, which also the Biden administration didn’t take up, I just ‚ I don’t have a lot of time for that argument,” Jennings continued.

Another panelist pushed back, arguing that by taking questions and calling for a review, Austin had provided “accountability.”

Jennings was not convinced: “Did a single Democrat ask for his resignation?”

It’s amazing to me that there are people who were outraged at Hillary for what she did, who don’t care what Trump and Hegseth do, and vice-versa. National security is important and dipshit amateurs should not treat it like a joke.

The left is not in charge and is in no position to demand anything from anyone. The right would do well to remember that, and the left would be wise to recognize that also.

The democrats and their media are in full fight mode. Which means they attack, deceive, lie, and even commit violence. The republicans need to call them out every moment of every day.

Suddenly democrats are concerned about accountability?

Hypocrites.

“Trump authorized the attack plan, which had been in development for several weeks, with the final order issued on Saturday, 15 March.”

The strikes are daily. The Houthis were and are well aware of that.

You don’t understand why you can’t let them get the better of us in the media. If you don’t fight back through the conservative media then they win. That’s all about human nature and the fact that Humans are gullible as heck. If you don’t fight back then the other side must be right in their minds. You are no help for the cause.

I can understand that W turned the other cheek and it cost us.

If our reps fight with them on their level we can win because we’ve got facts on our side. Starting with 80-20 issues is smart.

The Biden administration leaked actual Top Secret intelligence on war plans.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/19/politics/us-israel-iran-intelligence-documents/index.html

Not only did the leak compromise Israel’s operational plans, it exposed US/FVEYs intelligence gathering against Israel.

Not to mention the extensive leaks on Ukraine-Russia intelligence, and of course the many other incidents that occurred during the Biden regime, some mentioned above.

The Hegseth/Waltz screw up wasn’t nothing, but it was nothing compared to what happened on Biden’s watch.

How about accountability for that disastrous retreat from Afghanistan and those Benghazi deaths?

Am I the only one who heard Tom Basile on Saturday Morning Newsmax and Greg Kelly on Sunday Evening talk about who is connected to the Signal app?

That person, the male, is a huge Demoncrat Doner with the ability to interfere with the famous Signal Chat.

And by some stroke of horror, someone else has a connection:

The lovely young lady who was before a House investigation committee with her stunning answers about defunding PBS and NPR. Katherine Maher. I hope the spelling is right.

Could this “scandal” end up having nothing to do with the Rs.

Explain to me why we are attacking Hegseth when the criminal act was the reporter not leaving or signaling he was in a chat he was not authorized to be.

Consider the text of a simple fax warning.

“The information is intended only for the use of the individual(s) or entity named above. If you are not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any disclosure, copying, distribution, or taking of any action in reliance on the contents of this facsimile information is strictly prohibited.”

HE obviously had no reason to be there and should have left or signaled. He had to know or he would not have started this farce.

Investigate him for remaining where he explicitly knew he did not belong.

I realize there probably no notice but the intent is the same, you can’t intrude and act on private conversation even if by accident

Any form of communication can be used to communicate securely as long as the appropriate form of communication/obfuscation is employed. If I tell you that every time I say "Statue of Liberty" over Signal I really mean "The Capital Building", then we can say nefarious things that seem reasonable, but which have an entirely different meaning.

And, sometimes, you want certain information to leak out for the BENEFIT of national security.

None of us has enough information to comment on this.

Hegseth was not the guy who set the chat group. How can he be held responsible?
It is kind of like somebody were trying to force Hilary resignation because of the Wikileaks!
BTW Signal was adopted by the Biden administration. So if there is problem with it, it goes against some Biden guru.
