From March 26th to March 31st, over 100 crime writers are participating in an auction to support the Transgender Law Center
These are dire times. Human rights, and especially the rights of trans folks, are under attack. And thankfully, some of the crime fiction community has come together to fight back. For the next week, leading up to the March 31st Day of Trans Visibility, over 100 crime writers are participating in an auction benefitting the Transgender Law Center, including such folks as Roxane Gay, David Baldacci, Gillian Flynn, Louise Penny, and many more.
According to the fundraiser’s press release, “this initiative…was started by a group of crime fiction writers who were troubled by the increasing restrictions on trans identities and the attempts to erase them. Originally unsure of how much support this effort would receive, they were moved by the enthusiasm of so many prominent writers.”
Trans author, attorney, and advocate Robyn Gigl adds: “I honestly wish this initiative wasn’t necessary, but unfortunately, it is. The trans community is a relatively small segment of the population and that why it’s so vitally important for our allies to stand with us and support us. It’s an honor to be part of this effort.”
Those who would like to donate directly instead of bidding on auction items can do so easily from the auction home page, and as of this writing, the fundraising effort has already brought in over half of the organizers’ set goal. Thanks to the crime writers (and readers) who’ve made this possible, and here’s hoping we’ll see the mystery community engaged in plenty more activism to come.

I just read a British crime novel where anti-mmigrant, white supremacist, organized crime bosses, successful, rich, pragmatic businessmen with many legitimate concerns, conspire to bomb a soccer stadium and blame it on the Muslims, igniting mob violence and uprising and kicking out the muzzies. And not find some patsies, but risk their own sons. Patriotic.
I’ve enjoyed the writer before, but did she come up with the plot on her own or pick up an assignment at MinCultCon?
Once upon a time we knew how to deal with the mentally ill, we institutionalized them.
There is no such thing as “Trans Rights”. Nor Homosexual Rights...Anyone that has this affliction has exactly the same rights as any other US Citizen. At least in this country.
Mickey Spillane, Dashiel Hammett, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, they ain’t!
Post the list. I’ll avoid them. Add
I’d buy these sorts of books, hell I used to all the time but they went hopelessly woke and left wing years ago and I gave them up. There used to be a few geners of books that were good for the bedside table because they were light entertainment and contained no polemics . But now FORGET IT.
At all.
Or other ordinary Americans, for that matter.
Nor are they C.S Lewis, J.R.R Tolkien, Robert E Howard or Michael Crichton.
Exactly.
Have never heard of any of these people, but regardless, what significance does “crime writers” “fighting back” have?
Biology is still biology. I guess because they are fiction writers they believe they can foist additional fiction on us?
All of them have man hands and bugs bunny feet. The Robman Gaygaggle quoted in the story? Broadest shoulders you have ever seen on a tranny, wider than Jenner’s.
His later stuff is just boring and I could not force myself to read it.
If you do not tick certain boxes, that is not going to happen.
The CIA or Deep State if you will, has control of media outlets and publishers. That way they can block who they want and promote what they want.
This is just the Deep State promoting their GlobalHomo agenda.
It is it’s still getting purged of trash.
Fiction writers supporting fictious lifestyles. Imagine that.
Please, can we get the entire list of these trans supporting crime writers?
I see bonfires in the future and the fuel shall be their books!!
