DOGE finds millions of fake social security recipients/numbers, 25 million over 100, and It’s only the beginning!

The Social Security system just took a massive hit—thanks to DOGE uncovering what could be one of the largest frauds in American history. With over 395 million Social Security numbers on file, you’d think there was some sort of miracle happening. But the U.S. population? Around 334 million. That’s a discrepancy you can’t just ignore. This isn’t a technical glitch—this is fraud.

DOGE’s investigation uncovered 3.5 million Social Security recipients listed as being over 140 years old, with some records showing ages as absurd as 360-369 years old. This isn’t a glitch—this is outright fraud. Even more shocking, over 25 million recipients are listed as over 100 years old, and their death fields are marked as “False”—meaning they’re still considered alive, even though they should have passed long ago. To top it off, some individuals are listed as being over 150 years old, with two people absurdly marked at 240 and 360 years old. Are we really funding vampires with Social Security checks? If this weren’t so serious, it would be laughable.

If it is a simple recording error (which can happen), it is an insanely widespread error.

Match these old people records to voter rolls at the address the paperwork is sent to. Even more interesting.

Doge dipshits don’t know that COBOL defaults blank date fields to 1875.

Carl: Sir we know that many many hundreds of years ago, most men had more than one wife.
Mel: Yes.
Carl: Did you practice polygamy in those days?
Mel: I never practiced it. I was perfect at it!

That should be easy enough to prove or disprove.

I’m sure there is a data set for just that scenario....and from what I know about Elon, his numbers may be AFTER those people were filtered out.

There’s a pretty active Twitter thread claiming this isn’t true - or, more exactly, the use of COBOL as the database leads to errors that can produce this result.

I have no idea if that’s correct or not but some big-time coders have weighed in to say it’s a misunderstanding.

“SSNs and recipients are not the same thing.”

Exactly. I bet there’s about 500 recipients for those 25 millions SSNs.

Social Security is “going broke”
Medicare is “going broke”

ABCNNBCBS won’t report a second of it.

None.

If they don’t report it, it didn’t happen................

Wow, looks like Social Security has become a secret club for immortals!
I guess these folks didn’t just retire—they’ve been on an eternal vacation!
I wonder if they’re collecting benefits in Bitcoin, too.
DOGE better watch out; those 369-year-olds probably remember when actual doges were in power!

Welcome to the uniparty slush fund.

Only one party in America and Trump ain't a member, at least a welcome one.

Political parties and ideologies are distractions.

The America First Movement is real.

Musk is not a partisan nor is he an ideologue.

But he is a nationalist which is the foundation of America First.

...25 million recipients are listed as over 100 years old,...

Times $24,000/year = $600,000,000,000

Yes, SS is going broke.

Your point is well taken, but in some ways it probably is. DOGE could not be doing this much this fast without AI, and by good fortune, the guy in charge is an AI expert.

There’s no excuse for our elected representatives who supposedly have “oversight” for failing to do their jobs. Sure, they didn’t have the skill or tools but they could have at least raised the question, farmed out the work, and shown some attempt - but they did nothing.

It’s impossible to predict what all the fallout from DOGE may be, but an optimist might think that when the dust settles, the failure of Congress to do it’s oversight job may help build the case for term limits, even. A permanent DOGE-like entity as well.
