Vanity: Is it Possible to "Clawback" the Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Spent by U.S. Taxpayers?
VANITY

Posted on 02/11/2025 3:18:04 AM PST by TigerClaws

Can we sue the organizations (NYT, Politico, etc.) who profited off of the abuse of U.S. taxpayers' money?

Stopping the bleeding is one thing, but we should sue to get our money back - including those who personally profited from the fraud.

Yes, several agencies have adopted “clawback rules” for things like this

one example

One clawback example.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DoJ Begins Fourth Distribution of Funds via Asset Forfeiture to Compensate Madoff Fraud Victims
Largest Payment of Forfeited Funds in the History of Victim Compensation Program

The Department of Justice today announced that on July 31, the Madoff Victim Fund (MVF) began its fourth distribution of $469.6 million in funds forfeited to the U.S. Government in connection with the Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (BLMIS) fraud scheme, bringing the total distributed to $2.4 billion to nearly 32,000 victims worldwide.

In this distribution, payments will be sent to over 25,000 victims across the globe, bringing their total recovery to 66.85 percent. This distribution represents the fourth in a series of payments that will eventually return over $4 billion to victims as compensation for losses they suffered from the collapse of the BLMIS. The MVF has received over 65,000 petitions from victims in 136 countries.

“The upheaval and devastation wrought by Bernie Madoff’s massive fraud continue to reverberate across the United States and the globe,” said Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “This fourth distribution of payments shows that the Department remains steadfast in its pursuit of proceeds of that fraud through civil forfeiture. Madoff’s victims, many of whom once believed they had lost everything, have now seen close to a 67 percent recovery of their loss amounts.”

“Bernie Madoff committed the largest Ponzi scheme in history,” said U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman for the Southern District of New York. “Today’s additional payment of more than $469 million by this Office represents the fourth in an on-going series of distributions that will leave victims’ with compensation for more than 65 percent of their losses. This extraordinary level of recovery represents this Office’s tireless commitment to compensating the victims who suffered as a result of Madoff’s heinous crimes.”

Good!

Sue the NGOs.

Sue the New York Times. Let them say they should keep OUR tax dollars and explain that to the public.

I would also like for the individuals, including the congress critters who are complicit, to be criminally charged.

For sure sue that lesbian woman’s “church” (the one who insulted Trump to his face) for the NGO money they stole.

But start with U.S. vs. New York Times for a refund.

Might push Politico into bankruptcy if they have to pay back that $8 million.

That I’d like to see.

Catching these communist crooks with their fingers in the cookie jar is one thing. Getting them to return the stolen goods is another. They will fight to the bitter end.

But think of all this, there are multiple players in this besides corrupt federal agencies. Such as politicians, the DNC itself and major news organizations. Once all this corruption is fully outed to the public there should be complete public outrage.

There could be public backlash over paying taxes knowing full well a substantial portion illegally goes to the DNC. The IRS agents Trump sent to the border are nothing but collection agents for the DNC.

The communists will fight, and fight dirty to keep all this from being exposed and especially to keep from paying anything back.

The “win” is litigating them into oblivion and putting them in court saying they “deserve” the money they stole.

Let the failing New York Times go to court to defend the overpayments.

This is like the $20,000 hammer sellers who got the kickbacks saying, “But yeah — you got the hammer!”

Put them on DEFENSE.

This is a war and we need many fronts opened to defeat the enemy. Occupy their time.

It’d topple Politico, which already can’t pay staff.

The chances of a federal “clawback” of stolen taxpayer money are about the same as getting your money back from that Nigeria “prince” who scammed you.

Even if we never see one dime many of these institutions can be broken defending endless litigation.

That would be a great reward—much more important than any monetary compensation.

The “discovery” process would be a sweetener as well.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

New York Times has money.

They can pay it back.

Some of the NGOs would be more difficult to track down but the millionaires that ran them... easier.

Would like to see a U.S. vs. Tides Foundation lawsuit.

Where are the lawsuits? Need to get them filed ASAP before the funds are transferred, hidden, spent...

With direct, hard evidence linking an individual to receipt of fraudulant funds will get them prosecuted ... and they’ll have to pay back. Right?

*********

What percentage of public outrage would
you guess/project that would occur? My
guess is it would be small, 10% or less.

I’d think they’d have to claw it back, for sure.

Especially for these $50 subscriptions and we find out the government paid MILLIONS to prop up these faux media outlets (NYT, Politico) to spread propaganda within our own country.

Need to sue and get the money back.

Rudy was chased around — still be chased around — by lawfare. It’s a powerful weapon to destroy your enemies.

They stole our money.

They need to give it back.
