Canada was the pathway for Chinese steel, to avoid tariffs. Why not fentanyl?

I agree with that. Fentanyl (and cocaine, and methamphetamine, and heroin) IS America's problem.

All the crap about cartels/China/whoever "flooding America with drugs" is avoiding the issue, which is creation of a desperate and despairing underclass for whom slow (and sometimes not so slow) death is preferable to life itself.

I voted for Ross Perot twice (MAGA before MAGA was cool), and I've never been so proud.

Never mind the cartels (on their side of the river).

Lash the users, hang the dealers. Institute a Singapore drug policy, and you won't have to worry about China.

Well, then...

...it’s LONG past time that we and our Pacific allies serve up China a similar problem.

It would work, but I don't choose to give government that much power. Rather, a colonial drug policy - users put in stocks for public humiliation and dealers shot dead by armed citizens - would be quite sufficient. :)

My point was, blaming China and Mexico is a distraction from doing what is necessary.

“According to Forbes, less than 1% comes from Canada.”

____________

Why so vague in your claim?

Anyone paying attention knows how the international drug cartels are operating in Canada and Mexico. Mexico is where most of the drugs come through into the USA, but those same operations are occurring in Canada to export to Asia and other places and, as we crack down on Mexico, the Northern border will become more and more an avenue for trafficking. Being proactive is a blessing.

Now, also, Canada facilitates the international drug cartels financially by turning a blind eye to the money laundering and other financial crimes.

Fentanyl is indeed America’s problem, and China made sure of it pumping the the ingredients and complete drug into America through Mexico via the cartels and “migrant” drug mules. The liberals love to scream Russia Russia Russia, but China is our number one enemy and threat.

Democrats have been in bed with China and China spies for a long long time, Feinstein and her ‘driver’, Swalwell and Fang Fang, and let’s not forget our own Mitch the Bitch married to the daughter of one of China’s largest shipping companies...nope no connection to the chicom government there.

‘Fentanyl Is America’s Problem’

Not much of a argument about that we have so many ready and willing to take any dope that hits the streets however China is doing it’s part to keep it that way part of their undermining the country plan.

Obama and Biden admin. didn’t do anything to stop them for a reason.

Let’s have a mandatory death penalty for those who sell alcohol and cigarettes too. Think of the lives that would save.

We’ll make it your problem just as you’ve made it ours.

We can easily find other countries willing to sell us things - or we can bring more of our factories back home. Good luck finding another market the as large and as rich as the United States.

China is a major supplier of consumer goods and electronics. A higher tariff could lead to price increases that would hurt American consumers more directly. A 10% tariff might be intended as a warning shot, leaving room to escalate if China does not comply with U.S. demands on trade practices, intellectual property, or market access. Many U.S. industries rely heavily on Chinese manufacturing, and a sudden 25% tariff could disrupt supply chains, leading to shortages and economic instability.

That's why he's starting with 10%. That will give retailers the opportunity to reorient their supply chains to be much less dependent on China.
