....The Department of Justice is investigating a central New York sheriff for not honoring a federal arrest warrant and releasing a migrant who was in jail on an assault charge.
Acting Deputy U.S. Attorney General Emil Bove said Thursday that the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office released Jesus Romero-Hernandez, a 27-year-old man from Mexico who was in the country illegally.

So the county seat of Tompkins County is Ithaca (”city of evil”)... now I understand how this could happen.
I suspect of few of these rogue cops and maybe politicians will need to be arrested and tried or there will be widespread violation of the laws.

I’d make sure the sheriff was in prison with South American gang members. Let him learn how much they don’t care about his virtue-whining.

TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part VIII > § 1324: (Bringing in and harboring certain aliens)
(A) Any person who—Not only can the illegal alien face the death penalty, anybody who "harbors" or creates a "sanctuary" for an illegal alien who then kills someone, the person who harbors the illegal alien can also face the death penalty.(iii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation;
(B) A person who violates subparagraph (A) shall, for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs—
(iv) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) resulting in the death of any person, be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined under title 18, or both.

He has been out front defending Trump amid all the lawfare these last three years.

Make a painful example of that sheriff.
Which was likely a reduced charge instead of reflecting the actual crime he committed. They got a guilty plea from this guy by no doubt reducing a felony charge down to a Class A misdemeanor.
Time for some 5am FBI Swat raids.

IF the justice department does NOTHING to this sheriff then we can all assume only the faces have changed but it’s still the same old department of justice us and we got fooled. again.
Thank you for that citation. It’s going to be very useful in a conversation I’m having with a lib friend, who is going on and on about “faithful execution of the law.” I love the irony that it includes the death penalty (execution). I just have to give him a little more rope to hang himself with (metaphorically speaking, of course).
