British voters support several key policies associated with U.S. President Donald J. Trump. An Opinium poll involving 2,000 participants surveyed opinions on 16 statements derived from Trump’s inauguration speech, adapted to a British context—and without President Trump’s name attached—finding huge support for a ‘Britain First’ platform.
Presented with the pledge, “We will declare a national emergency in the Channel, and we will begin the process of returning thousands and thousands of criminal migrants back to the places from which they came”—a reference to Britain’s ongoing boat migrants crisis—35 percent strongly agreed and 23 percent somewhat agreed, against just 12 percent each for strongly disagree and somewhat disagree.
Moreover, a net 63 percent agreed with the statement, “Our state fails to protect our law-abiding UK citizens but provides sanctuary and protection for dangerous criminals that have illegally entered our country from all over the world,” against only 26 percent disagreeing.
Presented with the statement, “After years and years of efforts to restrict free expression, we will immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech,” 53 percent agreed, against only 26 percent who disagreed. Censorship is a major issue in Britain, which lacks a First Amendment and sees thousands arrested for “grossly offensive” communications every year, up to and including sharing George Floyd memes in private WhatsApp groups.
Additionally, 56 percent of Britons support imposing tariffs on foreign countries “to protect UK workers and families [and] enrich our citizens to benefit UK citizens.” This result is particularly curious, as while economic nationalism has been part of America’s public discourse for years, free trade dogma stands virtually unchallenged among Britain’s political and media establishment.
A majority of 51 percent also agreed with the statement “there are only two genders: male and female,” against 32 percent who disagreed. Meanwhile, 53 percent supported “end[ing] the government policy of trying to socially engineer ethnicity and gender into every aspect of public and private life [and] for a society that is color-blind and merit-based,” against just 23 percent who disagreed.
You might want to re-read that letter we sent to your King George back in 1776.
It's still in effect.

The government there has no doubt recognized the problem — it is the voters.
The voters are a threat to democracy.
Who are the roughly 20% who don’t have an answer???
Pakis................
My guess would be the people paid by the taxation of others.
Apparently, your tagline only requires about 20%.
“Stunning Data” - only to the leftist a-holes who populate MSM.
I hitchhiked around Southern Britain in 1972 and I’m so glad that I got to see it while it was still Britain.
I think there are a LOT of people around the globe who would like to have a leader like Trump. We aren’t the only ones fed up with DEI and Transgender BS.
I’ve often wanted to visit both Britain and India, but not at the same time............
Uniparty is much bigger and more powerful in the UK.
One world government Cameron stupidly gave the voters some say, and what do you know they voted against the uniparty and for Brexit.
Teresa May did everything she could to slow walk and sabotage Brexit and BoJo ended up leading the conservative to a really, really historic victory.
BoJo wasn’t much on governing and the globalist uniparty scum overthrew him for the one world Rishi Sunak who was a disaster in every way.
In the last election the people weren’t given much of a choice as they ended up voting out the devil they knew out for the devil they didn’t know.
Farage is as close to a populist as Britain has on the public stage and yet the church ladies resist him because he drinks, he smokes and in their opinion is vulgar.
In other words too many voters don’t like his tone much as Crooked Hilary didn’t like Trump’s tone back in 2016 which is hilarious because she was as responsible for as many Arkancides as her hubby.
The polls may like Trump policies but Brits are too blind to recognize a Trump if a Trump ever put himself on the ballot.
Side note to the native Brits: Try to stay away from those stabby Muslims if you can. They are quite unpredictable. But please don’t complain about that. You don’t want to end up in a jail cell next to Tommy Robinson, do you?
he drinks, he smokes and in their opinion is vulgar.............like Winston churchill..........
This is the sane country that voted to Brexit.
Their Deep State is making them pay for that the same way ours is making us pay for voting for MAGA and Trump.
The UK’s problem is that it doesn’t have a Trump standing between their Deep State and the citizenry.
Send them Elon when our DOGE work is done.
They see that Trump is taking us out of the morass that has been inflicted on us, and they see in him hope for themselves.
The survey properly dissociated Trump’s name from this, which makes things a bit clearer. The MSM are currently engaged in a furious campaign to demonize “Trumpism” without actually defining it except in the form of pejoratives - racist, misogynist, transphobic, etc ad nauseum. Without that framing it looks pretty attractive even to non-conservatives.
Farage and Trump are pretty much on the same page about everything and on the current trajectory he will be PM by 2029.
Elon Musk is a Commonwealth citizen. Technically all he would need to do is get legal residency and he could run for Parliament and become PM if he chose. Hypothetically of course.
Didn’t know that. Thanks bud.
