Add one drop forest mismanagement, one drop water mismanagement, one drop budget cuts, one drop DEI, mix and you have California.
And it's only going to get worse. Someone page George Santayana.
It seems every fire in California is something brand new to its government. They never seem to learn a thing from history. If it wasn't so tragic it would be a comedy. It's as if they've never heard of Santa Ana winds or adequate water storage.
Claims are flying around about water management
Rick Caruso, billionaire real estate developer, called into LA local news: “This is like a third world country… there is no water coming out of the fire hydrants. LA Mayor Karen Bass is on a foreign trip to Ghana.”pic.twitter.com/iOjXPkWcko

Fire hydrants have run dry. It is being argued that water storage tanks around the city were filled.
Jeffrey Mount, senior fellow at the PPIC Water Policy Center, a think tank that tracks water use and storage data in California, told VERIFY that there isn’t a shortage of water in the area’s reservoirs.Obviously, there aren't enough storage tanks but it's only part of the problem.“At no time during this fire has there been a shortage of water in southern California,” Mount said. “Their reservoirs are full. And there is nothing to be done with water that would have changed the course of these fires.”
California is completely derelict when it comes to forest management. Ironically, Donald Trump commented about this back in 2019
Forbes 2019:
Newsom didn’t admit it, but the outrageous cost to remove a few dead trees from private land is a consequence of California’s Byzantine environmental regulatory patchwork.Did I mention that LA Mayor Karen Bass cut the LAFD budget by $17 million before she abandoned the city? This is California’s big secret: it’s not climate change that’s burning up the forests, killing people, and destroying hundreds of homes; it’s decades of environmental mismanagement that has created a tinderbox of unharvested timber, dead trees, and thick underbrush.
L.A. Fire Chief Kristin Crowley warned Mayor Karen Bass (D) last month the $17+ million she cut from the department's budget "severely limited the department's capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires"That bring us to Kristin Crowley, the celebrated LGBTQ LAFD Fire Chief. The crisis, in her opinion, is not any of the above but rather a lack of diversity instead.
The LA Fire Department’s first female LGBTQ chief created a DEI Bureau to train firefighters in DEI. They called it a “crisis” that there aren’t more women represented in the fire department. pic.twitter.com/MFWg6Ix6Bx — Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) January 8, 2025
Apparently, "diversity" means that leadership must be all LGBTQ
Here's some of what diversity gets you

Sardines outrank people, even LGBTQ+ persons of “color” and Hollywood actors.
EHem at it finest.
Why would she be in Ghana? She's a friggin mayor.
As a public service, I checked a few liberal blogs earlier today.
No one is blaming these raging fires on incompetence. No one.
Some folks there are blaming “Climate Change”. But most of them say that it’s simply a once-in-a-century event. It would overwhelm even the very best preparations. So let’s all get back to bashing Trump.
You could retire on clearing lots before the building permits are ever approved.
never mind, diesel powered semis are all but banned in California, how are you going to move all those huge dumpsters?
And where are you going to put it all???
These are GRASSLAND and CHAPARRAL fires, NOT forest fires. “Dr John” clearly does not understand that.
Starting 150 to 175 years ago, invasive Mediterranean annual grasses wereintroduced into California displacing the native grasses. The native grasses were perennial grasses that were adapted to surviving long dry summers and very wet winters. But they lived over many years. The invasive grasses are fast-growing annuals that grow 4-5 feet high in one season, mature in May, die off, and leave behind large fuel loads. They are much more flammable than the native grasses and chaparral. The characteristics of the fires changed enormously when the non-native grasses took over and crowded out the native plants.
While his points about preparedness and investing in water infrastructure are certainly valid, he is off base discussing the Southern California ecosystems and fire.
High winds, lack of rain and climate change stoking California firesHow did Matt McGrath slip in the comments by Professor Stefan Doerr? Just hedging bets?
By Matt McGrath, Environment Correspondent"While fires are common and natural in this region, California has seen some of the most significant increases in the length and extremity of the fire weather season globally in recent decades, driven largely climate change," said Professor Stefan Doerr, Director of the Centre for Wildfire Research, at Swansea University.
"That said, it is too early to say to what degree climate change has made these specific fires more extreme. This will need to be evaluated in a more detailed attribution analysis."

It might get you some retard saying this hydrant is an excerpt. Get more water at the next hydrant down the road.
An accurate and almost unbelievable summary of the situation.
DEI starts to die on January 20th!
Forgot the Fire Trucks for Ukraine debacle.

I am at a loss for words. Astonishing. The probably got this from the new physical requirements for the US Army Ranger Training.
Yep, they are incapable of connecting dots.
Cause and effect is a foreign concept to them
Things just happen.
I can’t think of one area of life that women have moved into in force since 1970 that hasn’t fallen apart, from law, to science, military, universities, government, law enforcement, public schools as principals and leaders and nationally unionized teachers, corporate heads and in dealing with the international business competition, outdoors management and park rangers, it is as though everything in America has a limiting governor on it and is restrained, creativity, aggressiveness, and winning, dampened.
