She had been forced to resign from her position as English teacher for refusing to comply with a demand to enable the “social transition” of two students who did not want to be called by their names and pronouns as listed on the school roster.

School boards that insist on teacher using a “student’s preferred pronouns” - or resign - are losing case after case, some with payouts of more than $500,000.

“Attorneys for the Alliance Defending Freedom also won a $575,000 settlement for Peter Vlaming, a teacher in Virginia who faced a similar crackdown.”

“Jessica Tapia will receive $360,000 from the Jurupa Unified School District after she was fired in 2022 and accused of proselytizing during class. The district accused her of not calling a student by their preferred pronouns.”

“ADF likewise won religious accommodations for teachers Deborah Figliola, Kristine Marsh, and Laura Nelson in their battle with Harrisonburg, Virginia, City Public Schools for a similar case.”

Keep the lawsuits coming.

The students should all be addressed as "maggot".

Great news. Unfortunately, the taxpayers foot the bill, not the administrators who did the firing.

Her lawyers will get 30%,most likely.
Still it is a victory. The taxpayers always lose.

Yes, it will be passed along to the taxpayers - and that is wrong.

Those administrators who forced teachers to resign over “not using students’ preferred pronouns” should be fired, mandated to cover the legal costs of the lawsuits - made to pay restitution to the teacher.

Hotel California is where they keep the social transition people.

Cartels won’t even sell them for body parts for fear of it spreading.

Maybe we need laws that the administrators have to pay some portion of the money, enough to hurt.

You hit the nail on the head right there. That's why public schools and other govt entities are so quick to defend their anti-American/anti-Christian actions. They're not fighting these lawsuits with their own money, they're fighting them with YOURS! The only saving grace with a civil rights suit like this one, is that you can actually sue the individuals themselves, and for treble damages. However, I'm sure that her legal battles went through more than one local suit on the way to federal court in which the taxpayers covered the bill for the school districts shenanigans. I speak from experience on this.

Yes, it will be passed along to the taxpayers - and that is wrong.

We had a similar situation in my school district even though we are roughly 2-1 MAGA voters. Much smaller incident and much smaller settlement, but it happened because too many of our voters stopped paying attention to school board elections which are held in odd numbered years.

The wokesters would basically turn out all their minions for primary elections where candidates would cross-file. With a 20% turnout or so for odd-year primaries, they would basically get the slate of candidates they wanted for November.

When the school board became so corrupt, they hired administrators who catered to the wokesters and this kind of $#*+ happened. It was a wake-up call. Our MAGA majority pulled a former school board leader out of retirement to clean things up. We now have an 8-1 majority and decent administration, but it took two election cycles to get there.

Voters need to pay attention to these local election (and even consider running for open positions themselves) or this kind of $#*+ WILL happen. This is my 12th and final year as Judge of Elections in our precinct. I took the position not because I wanted it since it is a LOT of work with very little pay, but because if I didn't, some leftist might. I'm confident we have now found a conservative lady to take my place, so I can retire with honor.

This is how our people need to act. We aren't drawn to political office like a moth to a flame. We see it as a chore and duty to serve, which it is. But if we don't do it, the left will. They see it as an opportunity to push their agenda and a stepping stone to further power. If we do it, then they can't.

“Her lawyers will get 30%,most likely.”

Sad but true. They will get that in addition to their fees being paid as part of the settlement. Please note the settlement was $450K plus attorney’s fees.

I was involved in a case where the attorneys were paid $22 million in fees direct from the defendant as part of the settlement in addition to the 40% of the $122 Million award to my client. I was just an expert witness and did not get a home run like the attorneys.

I have been saying this for years - keep an eye on your LOCAL elections, especially the school board, these bas**** can cause a lot of harm to your neighborhood in general and schools in particular.

My town has been good about beating back school bonds - this last one passed, unfortunately - but then housing prices have shot up considerably and we have a lot of uber-rich lefties moving in.

My brother is a high school teacher. He now refers to students by last name only or just points and says “you.”

Yes, it will be passed along to the taxpayers - and that is wrong.

The taxpayers hold the leashes of the Jackson Local School District board of education. The taxpayers elected, and in some cases re-elected the board members.

If they don't hold the district members' feet to the fire over these types of ridiculous polices, then they deserve to pay the piper when these policies backfire.

Apparently we still have some Constitutional rights in the USA. Great news! We’ve got a worker at my job that wants to be called a woman’s name, and people call him “her”. I’ve already told my boss that I’ll call him his made-up name but I’ll never call him, her. And I’m prepared to sue if there is any blowback.

Yes. Leftists are inherently herd animals and work well together. It happens in Alaska too. They will never stop, we must remain vigilant.

Take a percentage out of their paychecks and pensions and maybe they will think for once.
