Conservative Media's Darkest Secret: They're Closet Liberals
Mark Dice on Youtube ^ | 12/23/2024 | Mark Dice

Posted on 12/25/2024 8:21:13 AM PST by ducttape45

I know folks don't like to view videos to get an explanation for the post, but listening to it will give you far more insight than my simple explanation, but suffice to say Mark Dice is really on spot here. He goes into detail about how he views many so-called conservative voices as actually being closet liberals but not willing to come out as such.

I know not everyone we listen to or read about is going to check all the boxes and that conservative hosts are never going to completely satisfy our desire for a purely Christian conservative viewpoint, but I believe there is merit in what Mark is saying.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas to all.

Just like politicians from so-called red states. There are people who are very progressive, but who want a job in politics, so they simply run as a repub and say a few things to sound conservative.... then they govern as progressives.

No matter how conservative someone might be, there will be a person pop up and start ranting about RINOs and traitors.

That's because the conventional left/right spectrum is inherently flawed. The true spectrum is between statists and anarchists: Those who want the state to 'do' something on whatever their pet rock issue is versus those who don't want the state to 'do' anything at all.

The challenge for real societies is to find the balance between the two. The US Constitution describes a wonderful balance, far superior to the system we live under.

So there are 'conservatives' who demand the state 'do something' about abortion, or who demand the state 'do something' about foreign aggressors who (ultimately, like Hitler) may threaten their view of their own nation, or those who demand the state 'do something' about voter fraud.

And there are leftists who demand the state 'do something' about transexual kids (whom they assume know what they are better than their own biology), or 'do something' about those nasty gun owners, etc.

My own view (if it's not obvious by now) is that the federal government should only 'do something' about those responsibilities explicitly established in the Constitution, but do those things very well.

So as much as I hate abortion, it's not a federal government job to 'do something' about that (see the 10th Amendment). By the standards of many on this forum, the fact I don't want the federal government to outlaw abortion immediately means I'n not a conservative.

And perhaps they are right.

Yep this is very true. The problem is the label “Conservative” is claimed by so many politicians and media types it has lost all value

For example, this website

Group 1 here are the Libertarian/Conservatives. The Libertarians were hijacked by the Alt Left so aren’t really Libertarians anymore. Currently Libertarians seem to be just fine with most of the Alt Left’s neo Marxism as long as their particular vice or kink is validated.

Group 2 here is the Social Conservatives. They almost wholly focus on moral issues. As long as their views on moral issues are validated, they pretty non interested in anything else.

Group 3 the Fiscal Conservatives. They pretty much care only about budget and spending issues. They want the Fed Government cut way down.

Group 4 is probably what is closes to pure Libertarians. They want the US to stop doing everything it been doing world wide for the last 80 years. They are Anti War, Anti Alliances, Anti Membership in International agencies like the UN and WHO etc. They pretty much ready to dismantle the Fed Government back to the size and power it had in 1899.

Group 5, who mostly been driven off this site by the rise of Trump, were the GOP-E “Conservatives”. When Conservative became a winning label a lot of people grabbed onto the title when they actually are 100% pro GOP Establishment. To them the Republican Party is all and it can do no wrong,.

Hannity is a parrot, 99% of the time he simply gets the RNC talking point memo of the day and just repeats the talking points verbatim over and over no matter what anyone says to him in an “interview” etc.

He’s not a sharp man, made lots of money being a parrot, but a great intellect he is not.

“No matter how conservative someone might be, there will be a person pop up and start ranting about RINOs and traitors. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.”

Exactly!

Many so called conservatives (eg, a lot of freepers) are parties of one - unless you agree with them on every last detail, you become RINO or worse.

Not the way to build a powerful movement. Strength comes in numbers. Reagan understood that, and so does Trump.

That is the ultimate job description for cable news. When you have 24 hours to telecast and an hour (at most) of news, then how do you fill in dead air space? You have a created war between conservatives and liberals who play a daily ping pong match to fill the air space. The biggest mistake is to call them ‘News’ sources. They are wannabe entertainers that are paid accordingly. I strongly suspect that there will be no cable news in 5 years since everything can be gathered online and for free. People will no longer be willing to pay an enormous bill for Cable tV, which has to pay for all kinds of crap, and when you can get your tv a la carte.

Agree. Took me a while, but I finally bit the bullet and admitted to myself that I was totally suckered by the Bush’s and neocons over the two Iraq wars and Afghanistan. So much wealth and blood wasted, so much American taxpayer money laundered to bad actors.

My favorite part of Christmas radio used to be the sublime G. Gordon Liddy filling in for the great Bob Grant on WABC in NYC. Anyone here ever catch that?

In order to make it in yesterday’s media you had to be hired by a flaming liberal. That made a difference. It’s also changing right under our feet.

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

This post brings a couple of things to mind.

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” - Lincoln

"For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all." - Jesus
