Tommy Robinson, an often imprisoned and fined British political activist, is the very definition of a dissident in the context of his opposition to mainstream political narratives and his outspoken criticism of various aspects of U.K. governance, particularly with regard to issues of invasive immigration, rampant Islamic extremism, and the suppression of free speech. Following are several arguments why President Trump should officially designate Robinson as a dissident and take the repressive government in the U.K. to task.
Robinson is known for his critique of the British political establishment, particularly by the political class that has failed to address concerns related to immigration and Islamic extremism. His opposition to political correctness and the mainstream media’s treatment of these issues has led him to be marginalized by many of the U.K.'s political elites with police harassment, arrests and fines. As a dissident, he challenges the status quo and takes positions that run counter to the prevailing political consensus.
Robinson is a defender of free speech, often arguing that his views and activism are suppressed by the authorities, media, and political elites. He has been a vocal critic of laws and policies he believes inhibit free expression, particularly around discussions of race, religion, and immigration. His frequent arrests and legal battles (particularly for contempt of court and hate speech) are seen by his supporters as evidence of the government’s attempts to silence his dissident views.
Robinson’s activism is rooted in his opposition to the negative consequences of mass immigration, the suppression of native citizens and the spread of Islamic extremism in the U.K. He has been outspoken about the impact of these issues on British culture, identity, and security. His position has earned him both staunch supporters and significant detractors, with some accusing him of promoting anti-Muslim sentiment. Regardless of one’s view of his specific arguments, Robinson’s willingness to challenge the prevailing discourse around multiculturalism, immigration, and Islam positions him as a figure outside the mainstream as defined by then.K. government.
Robinson’s legal troubles and imprisonment proves his status as a dissident. He has repeatedly been arrested, most notably for violating reporting restrictions during the trial of grooming gangs in England, and has faced various charges related to his activism. Many of his supporters argue that these actions are politically motivated, intended to suppress his dissent against the establishment’s handling of issues like grooming gangs and radical Islam. The criminalization of Robinson’s speech and activism has fueled his portrayal as a martyr for free speech and a symbol of the larger struggle against government overreach and political correctness.
Robinson’s decision to move away from traditional mainstream media and embrace social media and independent platforms also aligns with the behavior of a dissident. By building a following through alternative channels, Robinson has positioned himself as part of a broader populist movement that seeks to bypass what he and others see as a corrupt or biased media landscape. His media presence on platforms like YouTube and Telegram is a means of directly communicating with his supporters while circumventing traditional forms of media censorship.
A core element of Robinson's activism has been his rejection of political correctness, which he sees as a tool used by the elite to silence dissenting voices and avoid addressing uncomfortable truths. He argues that the political establishment, particularly in relation to issues of immigration and Islam, actively suppresses open discussion in favor of a narrative designed to maintain social cohesion at the expense of truth. In this context, Robinson’s willingness to speak out against what he considers to be taboo subjects makes him a dissident in the eyes of those who view political correctness as an oppressive societal force.
Tommy Robinson’s status as a dissident lies in his steadfast opposition to the prevailing political orthodoxy on a range of issues, his vocal criticism of government policies, and his experiences with legal persecution. Mr. Robinson's actions and rhetoric position him as an individual who challenges the dominant political narrative and the power structures that enforce it. For those who see the political establishment as out of touch with the concerns of ordinary people, Robinson represents a dissident voice seeking to bring attention to issues he believes have been ignored or suppressed.
As the first dissident President who has been, and still is, suffering lawfare prosecutions President Trump must come to Mr. Robinson's aid with all the power of the U.S. government. To not do so is to legitimize the illegal actions of the nascent one party state that is the communist Democratic Party.
If Trump doesn't do this then how can he claim dissident status for himself with a straight face?
Why aren’t the UK and China under the same type of sanctions that were imposed on imposed on supposedy undemocratic Russia?
How about we just kick the muslims - AND THEIR OPEN BORDER COLLABERATORS - out of Europe and all of Western Civilization? Would that be ok?
Today you have a runaway bureaucracy where nameless, inculpable, unelected officials play God with people rights and sometimes even lives.
So called “rights” matter little.
Name me one of the Bill of Rights which has not been abridged? Seriously, think about it, there isn't one, they all have been infringed upon.
These government agencies basically get to tell you what your rights are today.
They have far reaching (beyond any Constitutional legitimate scope) powers and literally define what their own boundaries are.
If the UK wants this guy watch-listed, restricted in travel, censored, have us download all his data from a phone or laptop even without a search warrant at the airport (common practice), ... we will do whatever they ask: Reciprocity.
If they are not citizens then they should be deported. The imperial practice of intentional balkanization of any nation always leads to civil war and carnage to the benefit of the reptiles ruling the empire. The EUSSR is intentionally destroying the social and cultural cohesion of Europe to dominate and rule.
Tommy Robinson is a political prisoner.
I would blame profit, cowardice and a desire by the U.S. establishment to not be called out for doing the very same totalitarian evil here at home.
Why? Because of money and they speak a minority dialect of English.
This is great! I like the way you think.
Trump is a master of in-your-face politics and this would be an easy home run for him. It would keep communist Starmer on the defensive, help Tommy Robinson at the same time, and boost the UK public.
I would also nominate the Romanian candidate who got most of the votes in their recent election. A court threw out the election and there appear to be moves to chuck him in prison on made up charges. A new era for European democracy
Sounds like a plan. So let it be written, so let it be done...
That is a great suggestion. I think you should make a post to promote and discuss it further because what happened in Romania is dystopian, to say the least.
We should reexamine our “special relationship” with the UK and pull out of intelligence sharing in the Five Eyes intelligence sharing alliance.
They had Tommy broke at one point. He wanted nothing more to do with activism. The machine, however, did not care and kept on grinding away. That is when Tommy decided he had nothing left to lose and went back all the way
1984.
What the U.K. Is doing to Tommy Robinson is right out of the playbook of Red China and the old USSR. The inbred scum ruling that damp, dank island need to be humiliated for their abuse of both Robinson and their citizens at large.
Free Tommy Robinson!
If they are citizens then they should be exiled.
Don't change the subject...
...to a citizen!
Paging the House of Windsor...
