Republican Senator John Cornyn (TX) said he “absolutely” wants to review the House Ethics Committee’s investigation of Matt Gaetz.
Fresh off of losing his bid to be Senate Majority Leader, RINO Cornyn told reporters that he wants to see Matt Gaetz’s ethics report after Trump nominated him as US Attorney General.
Matt Gaetz resigned from Congress on Wednesday evening after President Trump announced his nomination for US Attorney General.

Trump knows what he's doing this time around. He's got a mandate and daily increasing momentum and he'll have plans to use such power if GOP senators get frisky.
The deep state is willing to allow Trump appointees in most government agencies, but NOT the DOJ. It will fight for that.

It controls the power of investigation, prosecution and lawfare, which is the ultimate power of the land. It uses that to make sure the deep-state survives, and that America’s bureaucrats and elites tow the accepted political line.

Cornyn is just the mini-Mitch. And, he inherits the John McKook chair in the Senate Executive Restroom, where, incidentally, Lindsay Gramnesty can usually be found on his knees.
It doesn't take long with these folks. At least they could have taken a couple of weeks to pretend they could lead.
How does this democrat ass Cornyn know it is a damaging report if he hasn’t reviewed it yet? Come on Texas, you can do better than this scum.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have voted for the Rat. Would have sucked short-term, but at least he’d be gone.
Trump can/should take these Senators aside and make a strong point: no matter how much they cringe, no matter who they reject, the person they wind up confirming is going to be an absolute pit bull. It might be Matt Gaetz, it might be Mark Levin, it might be Kari Lake, or it might be someone else. No matter what, though, it’s going to be someone who will walk into DOJ and take a blowtorch to every single solitary bad actor there. That person is going to kick over the table and smash the place up if that’s what it takes to root them all out and send them packing. So if they think they can get out of confirming such a person, they should think again. There is no escape.
Not so fast... Cornyn is truly an Arlen Specter Republican, but this could be a way of forcing the House to exonerate Gaetz publicly, rather than just letting the issue die. We’ll see.

Cornyn didn’t have any problem with confirming Austin, Buttigieg, Mayorkas, Wray and Garland.
