FEMA official Marn’i Washington ordered her staff to avoid assisting homes with Trump flags in their yards following the aftermath of a recent hurricane in Florida. Marn’i wanted them to suffer for their support for Donald Trump.

A whistleblower came forward with text messages revealing FEMA official Marn’i Washington ordered relief workers to purposely skip over homes in Florida displaying Trump signs in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

According to internal messages obtained by The Daily Wire, FEMA discriminated against Trump supporters in need of help in the aftermath of the most recent hurricanes that passed through the Southeast.

“Whistleblowers say that relief workers were told it was “best practice” to pass over houses “advertising Trump.”” The Daily Wire reported.

The workers would enter into the system that they made no contact with the residents, blaming the directive: “Trump sign, no contact per leadership”

Just as long as it isn't a white person's name!!! We just can't have that! How utterly ignorant.

“Relieved of duty” is not acceptable. Unless it is only the first step. This individual and anyone who followed those instructions must be fired, all benefits rescinded, and criminally prosecuted.

It is long past time to make an example of these irrational lunatics.

Guarantee, ‘relieved of duty” does not mean fired.

My bet is that she’ll claim it was done out of safety concerns (you know, interacting with Trump supporters can be dangerous and all that.) Her directive was part of a list she sent out to her staff (e.g. drink lots of water when out in the field, travel in pairs, avoid houses advertising Trump).

This needs to be more than job loss. This was a crime. Violation of Civil Rights under Color of Law.
This is no different than a cop or fireman refusing to perform their required services to a citizen in a car wreck with a Harris sticker on their car.

> I’m not sure if “relieved of duty” is the same as fired or if she’s merely been re-assigned. <

FEMA is doing a good job setting up a smokescreen for Ms Washington. I just checked a few other news sites. The FEMA action taken against her is always described in very vague terms.

“No longer in that role.” That sort of thing.

Even without Hatch issues, this should be considered criminal.

Reminds me of the same sort of talk we heard from the Secret Service after Butler i.e. “We take this seriously and are conducting an internal investigation”. But when you ask for details it’s “We do not comment on ongoing investigations”.

Sounds like she’s still drawing her paycheck.

It appears she is a low pay underling that wouldn’t have the authority to take the action - so she was likely just following orders from higher up. Another source shows her in the mid $50s.

They most likely relieved the employee of duty until they can figure out the full extent of what he or she did. What happens next is that he will, at best, be fired and, at worst, be fired and then turned over to the appropriate authorities for arrest and prosecution.

Election interference by a government agency (or official of an agency) is illegal. U.S. laws prohibit any federal, state, or local government agencies or officials from using their positions to influence the outcome of elections. Some key statutes addressing this include (but IIRC are not limited to):

The Hatch Act: This law restricts federal employees from engaging in certain political activities that could affect election outcomes. While it mainly limits political activity by employees, it also aims to prevent the misuse of official power or position in support of or opposition to political candidates.

Voting Rights Act and Civil Rights Act: These laws address broader forms of interference, including any intimidation or coercion by government officials that could impact voters’ rights.

18 U.S. Code § 595: This federal statute specifically prohibits anyone acting under the authority of the federal government from using their "official authority for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting, the election of any candidate."

Close it down. Fire them all.

Blame the Biden/Harris administration if there is any need to assign blame.

They screwed the pooch with their Helene response in North Carolina. They pulled this stunt in Florida.

From top to bottom they foster and approve these responses.

The Agency acts against its mission. It weaponizes it’s responses. And when it is not weaponizing and working against its own mission on behalf of the citizens, it is simply staggeringly incompetent.

Message to the newly unemployed former employees...” Blame your bosses and yourselves for your own demise. You cannot be trusted.

“You’re Fired!
