This week, Vice-President Kamala Harris tried desperately to get the attention of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis regarding Hurricane Milton, calling him "utterly irresponsible and selfish" for not taking her call. "All I was trying to do was help coordinate his relief efforts."
DeSantis said "we are already leveraging all available resources. I've been in contact with President Biden to coordinate state and federal efforts to mitigate damage and to rescue people stranded by the storm. I'm not sure how Vice-President Harris figures into this. Isn't she busy running for president right now?"
Biden confirmed that "I have been communicating with Gov. DeSantis. He has been cooperative. He's doing a great job. It's being, all being done well. I don't know why the Vice-President is pestering him. She's been excused from the vice-presidential duties she felt burdened by so she could concentrate on her campaign, which I hear isn't going so well. Maybe pressuring me to step aside wasn't such a good idea. She's not getting the union endorsements I got."
In defense of her efforts to contact DeSantis, Harris pointed out "it was me who ordered a C-17 to be loaded with relief supplies for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina. So, the misogynist conspiracy between DeSantis and Biden to make me appear useless is now exposed for all to see. It seems that I, like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, am also to be denied the presidency on account of my sex. Well, the majority of voters are women. If we all stick together, every election from now on will be won by a woman. Permanent power is within our grasp if we have the unity and will to take it."

Help from Kamala Harris is like asking for a tuba to go hunting.
I’m in Florida about 14 miles south of Sarasota.
I got electric power about two hours ago.
The roads are now passable.
The Publix was open Friday. The Aldi opened Saturday but lost its meat, cheese and green veggies due to power loss.
The Speedway was out of gas for about a day but was resupplied yesterday.
A Bobcat pushed the FEMA debris piles away from my street. I take that to mean FEMA debris trucks will be coming soon. I’ll finish building my FEMA debris piles tomorrow.
The houses in my neighborhood survived well. About 1% had severe roof damage. I spoke to a man who lost a house in another area of the county and was I believe living with a relative.
My neighbors were able to get two tarps (~16x20) from a county distribution center.
