Haitian migrants are still in the news, in spite of a second assassination attempt against Donald Trump. Millions of Americans are in disbelief that these Caribbean migrants are taking over Middle American towns. The Trump campaign is wisely focusing on this issue to highlight the disastrous immigration policies of the Biden-Harris administration.
But some naysayers are emerging who say nothing can be done about this issue. Liberals love to point out that most of the Haitians are here legally. That’s made some conservatives feel the problem is unfixable and that the issue has turned into a toxic matter. Those blackpillers are wrong–these Haitians can still be removed from the country if Trump gets a second term.
Haitians are eligible for temporary protected status, which gives them deportation protection due to their homeland being deemed unsafe. As the name attests, it’s supposed to be temporary. However, many migrants stay here for decades thanks to TPS. However, the president can expel whatever group he wishes from TPS.
There’s no need to be pessimistic over the Haitian migrants. The Right’s fixation on this matter is waking up millions of Americans to the problem. It solidifies Trump’s campaign message that Biden’s open borders pose an existential threat to this country and only Trump can solve the problem. If he gets another term, Trump can put an end to mass Haitian migration. Getting it done is only a matter of will.

More Americans are driving without car insurance, and it’s making coverage more expensive for everyone else.
The problem has been growing since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Insurance Research Council, whose latest data show the percentage of uninsured drivers rose to 14% in 2022, from about 11% in 2019. The IRC, which calculates the data based on the relative frequencies of auto-insurance claims, expects the numbers have continued to climb since then.
Washington, D.C., New Mexico and Mississippi are among the jurisdictions with the highest share of uninsured motorists, the IRC says. Washington has recorded almost 19,000 uninsured vehicles since 2021, according to a spokesperson at the district’s department of motor vehicles.
In Ohio—ranked 10th on the list—the number of noncompliance suspensions increased 16% between 2020 and 2023, according to the state’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Such infractions occur when a driver fails to show proof of insurance at a traffic stop or after an accident.
J.D. Power, which bases its research on consumer surveys, sees a similar trend and says the percentage of uninsured drivers increased in the first half of this year.
When more cash-strapped consumers drop their coverage, it reduces the premium pool, which causes many insurers to raise the prices of their policies. The average annual cost of full-coverage car insurance has jumped to $2,278, up 12% from 2023, according to Bankrate.
Although many of the drivers dropping coverage say they are also battling rising costs for groceries, housing and healthcare, others are rolling the dice and betting they won’t need it.

LOL...I’ve been in the SF Bay Area since 1978 and that included a two-year stint in South America, SE Asia, China and a bit of Europe. So I’m a big fan of ethnic food, too. Add Thai to your list!
I’m pro-immigrant like you (son of a naturalized immigrant), but we need controlled, measured and legal immigration, preferably by people who want to become Americans and can contribute to our nation.
