RFK Jr.: “I’m Not Taking Anybody’s Guns”
Glenn Beck ^ | 4 months ago | RFK, Jr.

Posted on 09/01/2024 5:15:46 AM PDT by hardspunned

My stance on the Second Amendment is simple: I’m not going to take anyone’s guns away. I believe in the Constitution. But Americans need to work together to figure out why we have mass shootings every 21 hours. Something changed around the time of the Columbine shootings in 1999, and it wasn’t the number of guns in America. The National Institutes of Health refuses to investigate the mystery; in fact, Congress prohibits the NIH from researching the cause of mass shootings. Under my administration, that rule ends — and our kids’ safety becomes a top priority.

***the democrat party and their communist cohorts have screwed up the mental health of so many Americans.***

Worst thing they did was close down the mental hospitals in the 1970s and release the crazies onto the streets. Almost every mass shooter since then would have been incarcerated before the shootings if the 1950s rules for incarceration had been in effect.

I’ll bet if you had access to everyone’s medical records and social media accounts, you could scrub them and identify the ones on the right meds and with the right mindset to shoot up a place.

I bet it wouldn’t be hard to assign them an AI bot that spun them up at the right time.

The nice thing there is it’s all automated, no one to blow any whistles.

Conspiracy theory you say? Maybe, but it is technically possible and the exact same things have been done, a decade ago (remember Target advertising to pregnant women, before they knew themselves?), and the wealth that is at stake is very high.

Prozac (from “prosaic”) - fluoxetine - approved by FDA in 1987, first marketed in 1988.

Mainstream? No other antidepressant class of medications has had such clinical success other than ketamine (an NMDA receptor blocker affecting glutamate biochemistry).

SSRI’s main effects on alleviating major depressive disorder (and anxiety) is SO profound, many of the generally recognized negative side effects are largely ignored.

Including, many such as JFK Jr (and myself, a family physician going on 35 years’ practice) believe, homicidality (suicide is frequently mentioned as a TOP adverse side effect of SSRI therapy).

Always with the tradeoffs though, like guns saving lives.

But Americans need to work together to figure out why we have mass shootings every 21 hours.

The overwhelming majority of those mass shooting are carried out by teenage black males shooting other, using Glocks with switches. I'd say the black community needs to work together to figure out why so many of their young men feel the need to murder each other.

The rest of us are under no obligation to give up our Second Amendment rights because of the dysfunction in one section of the population.

They have nothing to do with something like Columbine.

I don't disagree with you but where I think he is going with this "What changed" narrative is strait at big pharma.

We have a generation of kids being fed anti-depressants, puberty blockers, anti-anxiety meds and God knows what else.

After every school shooting the government suppresses the autopsy reports so the public can't see what meds the perp was taking. They claim "privacy" as their excuse but since the perp is dead no such claim is valid.

There is a large possibility that there are commonalities among the shooters and government collusion is suppressing the information.

I believe this is where he is going with this not after guns.

As Musk recently said if Trump gets back in, he's going to break the Matrix.

Ritalin, Adderall, The “Great Society.” Liberal strangleholds on schools, TV, removal of the Ten Commandments, removal of the Pledge of Allegiance, ...

IMHO it's pretty simple.

The culture has changed dramatically since the 1950s due in large part to the 1960s.

We tossed God out of the schools along with morality.

We said it's ok to kill the unborn child.

Our movies glamorize the bad guy. Music glamorizes immorality.

Religious figures in movies are weirdos.

It's not the guns....it's the culture.

“mass shooting, as defined by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), an event in which one or more individuals are “actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area. Implicit in this definition is the shooter’s use of a firearm.” The FBI has not set a minimum number of casualties to qualify an event as a mass shooting, but U.S. statute (the Investigative Assistance for Violent Crimes Act of 2012) defines a “mass killing” as “3 or more killings in a single incident.” For the purposes of this article, both sets of criteria will be applied to the term mass shooting, with the distinction that the shooter or shooters are not included in any fatality statistics.“

Please, go to Chicago to fact check Kennedy personally and get back to us.

I’m with Kennedy, Let’s legitimately research the heck out of the issue and find out.

Praying that he is genuinely coming around.

He could be such a force for good in this country.

Him, Trump, and Vance. Great combination so it seems.

Lord, protect them all.

Ok, point taken.

If NIH is against it. You better be investigating why.

When I tried to find out Kennedy’s own, verifiable words on gun rights this is what I get. Did you watch the Carlson interview? Did he sound like a gun grabber to you?

What are his verbatim remarks on gun rights?

We went from this:

1791

On Dec. 15, 1791, ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution — eventually known as the Bill of Rights — were ratified. The second of them said: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

*******

1933

Assassination attempt on FDR. IMHO this was the reason reason behind the upcoming legislation.

To this in less than 200 years.

1934

The first piece of national gun control legislation was passed on June 26, 1934. The National Firearms Act (NFA) — part of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s “New Deal for Crime“— was meant to curtail “gangland crimes of that era such as the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.” [the St Valentine's Day Massacre happened in 1929.]

The NFA imposed a tax on the manufacturing, selling, and transporting of firearms listed in the law, among them short-barrel shotguns and rifles, machine guns, firearm mufflers and silencers. Due to constitutional flaws, the NFA was modified several times. The $200 tax, which was high for the era, was put in place to curtail the transfer of these weapons.

1938

The Federal Firearms Act (FFA) of 1938 required gun manufacturers, importers, and dealers to obtain a federal firearms license. It also defined a group of people, including convicted felons, who could not purchase guns, and mandated that gun sellers keep customer records. The FFA was repealed in 1968 by the Gun Control Act (GCA), though many of its provisions were reenacted by the GCA.

1939

In 1939 the U.S. Supreme Court heard the case United States v. Miller, ruling that through the National Firearms Act of 1934, Congress could regulate the interstate selling of a short barrel shotgun. The court stated that there was no evidence that a sawed off shotgun “has some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia,” and thus “we cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear such an instrument.”

Interesting case happened just a few miles from here. When it went to the Supreme Court no defense was presented because the plaintiff was dead, I believe shot by his own gang.

RFKjr early on when asked about gun rights, given the assassination of his father and uncle he might be given an understandable pass, he said, “Listen, I believe in all of the amendments, including the first and second amendments. There are millions of weapons in this country and there is no way that they can or should be confiscated. Gun violence is primarily an issue of mental problems, many brought on by the proliferation of psychotropic drugs and their effects.”
