Former President Trump tells NBC News that if he’s re-elected, his administration would not only protect access to IVF, but would have either the government or insurance companies cover the cost of it.

I agree. I don’t want the government involved. They distort whatever they touch and they would be using everyone’s dollars to fund something many don’t agree with. I feel the same way about Federal dollars to planned parenthood or to cover abortions as part of foreign aid.

She could go further and say that this IVF “program” balances the mass murders of babies via abortion.

I believe this procedure is very expensive. Why should the taxpayers pay for this? How are insurance mandates Constitutional?

We’ve entered a communist mindset, which will bankrupt our nation eventually. It doesn’t work....it will fail and poverty will eventually prevail.

Our country became exceptional due to freedom and free enterprise... which is freedom in the marketplace. Take that away and we go down.

The elites will gain more power which is the goal.

Many babies will be created to be destroyed, and many of the clinics encourage men to be unfaithful to their wives to achieve this. That’s hardly “pro-family” ... moreover, what % of people actually utilize this? Minuscule.

Guess he’s trying to further demoralize the base vote...not only going against respect for life, but also proposing big government giveaways and mandates that will cost us all.

He just wants to lose my vote is all.

So you now don't have the perfect candidate who agrees with you on every little issue.

So now you will help commit national suicide.

IDIOT!!

The only way you will ever get the perfect candidate is to run yourself.

Fools like YOU are how we got in the mess we are in today.

Dems understand incrementalism and will vote for their candidate no matter what.

Why do you think he will convert?

Melania.

My wife and I were infertile from the beginning. We adopted three infants. It wasn’t easy or inexpensive. Some states (CT) already require insurance coverage. I don’t want taxpayer dollars to go for procedures against nature, or for “selective reduction”. I am very disappointed. Like everyone else, Trump apparently figures Pro-Lifers have no place else to go. I plan on voting Trump/ Hayworth over Harris/Walz, but don’t expect any fire or enthusiasm.

Mass taxpayer funding for “selective reduction”/baby-killing” is NOT a “little” issue.

Trump keeps drifting to the Left on this issue. It’s gonna hurt him I predict.<

Trump found a wedge issue against his own base. That was a stupid party maneuver. I was kinda hoping he wasn’t really a Republican.

It seems like every day Trump manages to say something new to piss me off.

He’s running to the left while Kamala is pretending to run to the right.

Huh. 2.5% of pregnancies as I explained above. Cost is very small when included in family insurance (~$30/family policy).
IVF has nothing to do with men being unfaithful to their wives and the technique does not require embryos to be discarded or aborted.

Selective reduction is not an integral part of IVF. A person who would selectively reduce has chosen to murder just as if they hd an abortion. Most couples limit the transfers to 1 or 2 and commit to keeping a twin pregnancy if one occurs.

I think the choice would be for IVF to be covered by insurance. Many insurances already do cover IVF.
As I explained above it would be a small cost in a family policy just as insisting on covering mammograms raised insurance cost for women or family policies.

Perhaps yuo are unaware that 16 states already mandate coverage for IVF
New Jersey mandate for infertility coverage
Currently only 16 states in the U.S. – including New Jersey – have laws requiring health insurance companies to provide coverage for infertility treatment. The insurance mandate states that any insurance provider who provides pregnancy-related benefits must also cover infertility treatment and IVF costs. The law also requires health plans contracting to cover state employees and teachers to include the same infertility coverage.

The President’s suggestion that insurance cover IVF is not that radical.

No. But I don’t have the right to dictate what education parents give their children. Just THAT parents educate their children and we need tougher restrictions on educational standards and we need to encourage conservatives to do what liberals did several generations ago, and that’s take back our educational system from the liberals and toughen the teaching schools as well as the elementary and high schools.

It doesn’t go through insurance anyway.

Various countries such as Hungary and I believe Japan and Russia it is covered by insurance.

This is normally part of a strategy to increase native birth rates.

Free? Nothing is free. IVF is how homosexuals create the children their perversion prevents them from conceiving.

Make it free. Right. That means you and I pay for it.

Trump is off the reservation on this one. Is he trying to lose the support of Born Again Christians? Does he think he can actually win more votes than he loses?

But IVF doesn’t actually increase the birth rate. It’s a failure of understanding why it decreased.
