Former President Trump tells NBC News that if he’s re-elected, his administration would not only protect access to IVF, but would have either the government or insurance companies cover the cost of it.

He’s smart. And he’ll have devoted Catholics whom he lives and who love him up in his grill for the rest of his life. It’s just a matter of time.

I should have left statistice to the statisticians among us. Out of the 56 pregnancies/1000 women, 1.4 pregnancies would be from IVF. So ~35k for IVF for 1000 family policies = #35/policy.

I don’t like the idea of government forcing private insurance for paying for things like this, but if the government is going to mandate them to pay, or if the federal government is going to spend tax money on IVF, it better only be for married heterosexual couples of normal child bearing age who cannot otherwise get pregnant.

This better not cover single women who want to be Moms without a husband or lesbian couples who want to start a “family.”

Positioning himself as the most pro-family choice president vs Kamala

Millions of conservatives believe IVF = abortion.

Agreed completely.
That is going to be the sticking point. I am against IVF for same sex or unmarried couples.I don’t think it’s fair for the kids. Threading that needle is going to be hard now that the SC has burdened America with a warped definition of marriage to pander to a small segment. There should have been an option for a committed partnership with some shared legal rights but not the coopting of marriage.
The insurance companies will be sued if they try and exclude coverage for homosexual couples.

I know. I don’t get it. How can you be pro-life and pro IVF, or am I missing something?

So IVF does not involve abortion?

Does it involve pregnancy and birth?

Then you’d be happier having insurance cover IVF.
As we have discussed before I am completely against selective terminations but I do not believe IVF is abortion if that is excluded and all embryos created are given a chance at life.

A high percentage of embryos do not survive the first 8-12 weeks of any pregnancy, many are lost before the woman knows she’s pregnant. Many eggs are shed and not fertilized, the vast majority of sperm do not fertilize an egg. IVF is an opportunity, a chance at life. The sanctity of life must be respected but that is true in many situations.

Also: One attempted implantation per procedure. No discarding or “reducing”.

I’d personally prefer help with the rescue organization fees for cats and dogs, but there are a growing number of people who desperately want babies and just can’t. I don’t want all new citizens to be anchor babies or welfare babies. I want people in the middle that are barely affording getting on the property ladder to be able to start a family if that’s their desperate need. Not just the poor that see the child as a financial advantage and won’t educate it well, but the middle class who would find IVF a financial burden and WOULD do their best to bring up new citizens. So no to giving aid just to the poor. Yes to giving aid to middle income people who will educate those children well.

And don’t forget the four-footed kids, while you’re at it.

I didn’t say that, but yes. Yes I would.

Having FedZilla being involved in supporting IVF is the same as when they were involved with supporting abortion.

Yeah, I think it’s 4D chess. He’s waiting for Kamala to copy him, then he’ll say he was just kidding (because why would he support this?), leaving Kamala to defend a position a lot of people find repulsive. Smart.

IVF for the men who think they are girls too?

Because fetal reduction is not an integral part of IVF.
Most couples stay with 1 or 2 embryos implanted and if both are successful they have twins. If someone chooses to have an abortion either with a naturally conceived pregnancy or as part of IVF it’s murder.
