The Foo Fighters are clarifying that they didn’t approve of one of their songs being played during a Donald Trump rally in Arizona.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dropped out of the presidential race and the independent politician is now backing the former Republican president.
During a rally in Gilbert in the swing stage, the song “My Hero” was played, and now the band, fronted by Dave Grohl, is breaking their silence.
“Let us be clear,” the band’s social media account on X/Twitter posted.
The band shared a screenshot of an exchange with another X user asking the Foo Fighters if they had let Trump use their song.
“No,” the Foo Fighters replied.
A Foo Fighters representative said in a statement to EW, “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it.” The band also noted that they would donate royalties generates from Trump’s usage of the song to Kamala Harris’ campaign.
Earlier this month, Celine Dion’s team also publicly rejected the Trump campaign used the singer’s “My Heart Will Go On” during a rally.
“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana,” read the statement from August 10.
“In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use,” the statement continued. “…And really, THAT song?”

Yes. He’s quite full of himself.
They have to say that. Fan base protection 101.
It is my understanding as a songwriter and musician that if an entity purchases a license to use your music, they can use it and you get money.
I used to get Royalty Checks from time to time. I didn’t have control over who bought the licenses to use my songs.
Poo Flingers
Did the Poo Fighters ever find a lead guitarist? They suck as musicians. Chords only players.
Did they ever find a new drummer, after the other one OD’d?
In many cases artists have sold control and have no say, and are just grandstanding. If I’ve paid them money for their rights, and Trump47 wants to pay me for use, Trump47 gets to play.
Do the cats get their own seats?
Dave Grohl says the royalties only amount to ‘68 cents and Kamala owes him one
What a petty little jerk. I think Grohl is from northern Virginia? It shows.
They are dumber than a bag of nails.
Seems that all democrats are.
As long as he pays the organizations that pay the artist like ASCAP, SESAC, BMI.
I never did. This is one of the few songs I know about them and I heard it in a movie :)
Guns N Roses was my favorite band until they decided to tour for 8 years without releasing an album basically just to get rich.
But more so because axl took shots at Trump.
I’m 56 now. Not the strapping guy I was at 32 when I first joined :)
A little too old to listen to angry, rebellious music.
I’m too busy fighting time rebelling against me :)
“Trump supporters should stop patronizing any of these degenerates don’t buy their music. Don’t watch them on TV. Don’t patronize your sponsors and certainly don’t attend their ‘concerts’”
I never listened to their “music” because the name of the band is STUPID. What kind of retard would name a band foofighters?
Grohl said he came up with the name as a joke when writing songs after Nirvana ended and never thought the project would be as successful as it became and if he knew he wouldn’t have chosen it.
Learn about them from my ex and this was back in the mid to late 90s and that’s what I thought.
Of course today’s music sucks and has for the last 30 to 35 years.
Oh right. I forgot about that.
They are jab freaks that did tour during Covidiocy, but made people who wanted to see them in concert prove they were jabbed.
Screw them and their generic rock crap.
