What are you taking about? Crooks had already blown it before they silenced him. The only thing I can see they were good for was to assure their patsy Crook’s could not talk and spill the beans on the plot to kill Trump.
IMO< they let Crooks shoot so they could cover the other gunshots from the real assassins and then take him out and *solve* the problem.
Except, Trump survived it and technology provides too much other damning evidence about what really happened.
