AUSTRALIA’S WINTER CONTINUES TO DEFY BOM FORECASTS; EV INDUSTRY ON THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE; + NO CAUSE FOR ALARM

EV INDUSTRY ON THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE

It has become clear that the electric vehicle industry is on the brink of collapse.

Profits at the German auto giant Mercedes plunged on Friday as sales of its new range of EVs went into freefall

Porsche abandoned its sales targets for battery-powered cars amid waning demand from customers.

Ford is losing nearly $50,000 on every EV it sells, while Tesla’s profits dropped 45pc.

Meanwhile, battery manufacturers such as Germany’s Varta are getting wiped out.

As concluded by Matthew Lynn, writing for the telegraph.co.uk, hundreds of billions have been pumped into this industry by political leaders and the subsidy junkies that surround them – and it is surely time they were held to account for the vast quantities of taxpayer cash that has been wasted.

EV’s are nothing more than virtue signalling trinkets for the ideologues. They are not ready for the masses. Nor do they work logically, i.e. they are not ‘green’ (to manufacture or run). If it weren’t for subsidies, the free market would have organically disposed of EVs many moons ago.

In addition to the failing EV scam, pay attention to the climate information presented...

Hybrids, perhaps. Fully electric battery only, no way.

We all know the reasons: The unhandiness, the unreliability, the expense, the grid, the subsidies, the poor performance under load, the inherent danger of explosion & fire, the rocketing insurance rates, the low resale value, poor battery performance in cold weather and extreme heat....on and on.

Australia is having the coldest winter in decades, even though it was forecast to be the warmest. LOL

[Australia is having the coldest winter in decades]

Is there going to be a cargo ship sailing through Melbourne?

With wolves?

The Australian BoM - Bureau of Meterology routinely forcasts every upcoming quarter to be above average in temperature. Subsequent readings prove them wrong.

It is said by those living there that the BoM forecasts are based on their climate models rather than on real-world observations.

Does the Farmer's Almanac have an Australian edition?

Logistally, I would be the perfect person for an EV. I live less than 5 miles from where I work, so I wouldn’t even need a recharge to get home.

I rarely make side trips to and from work and when I do they would add no more than 50 miles more, yet the cost to buy one is more than I am ready to spend.

I would still need a regular gas powered car for long distance trips as I am not about to worry about where I can recharge.

Nobody in the U.S. government is ever held responsible for wasting trillions of tax dollars, the lawless borders etc. The criminals in D.C. get away destroying our country and are pretty much protected and are free to continue.

If I operated like those in the U.S. government I'd be bankrupt, hungry, homeless and living under a freeway on ramp.

Battery technology is not yet mature, and the public charging networks still experience a lot of reliability issues.

Clearly they must not be emitting enough CO2! /s

I searched and did not find a Farmer’s Almanac or Old Farmer’s Almanac specific to Australia.

I’m the same as you, I drive litte and have a sheltered auto garage. I still don’t want one because of the exorbant vehicle & charging equipment expense, the danger associated with the battery and on the “let the owner decide” principle.

I get the increased insurance anyway because of both EV & recent ICE vehicles being easily declared as “totaled” and the surge in uninsured drivers.

This insistence on everything being powered by batteries viable or not seems to be a form of engineering Lysenkoism.

Lysenkoism: The theories of the Soviet biologist and geneticist Trofim Denisovich Lysenko, in particular those relating to organic evolution.

I take it you mean pushing EVs is not utilizing the established best practices in automobile transportation?

Nobody really seems to be able to answer this question:

How is the electricity produced to charge these EVs?

We all know that EVs run clean on electrical power and have quite the acceleration on the road. They seem fun to drive so long as you have a place to charge them.

But how is that electricity to charge those clean running cars produced? If the below is how electricity still gets produced, then what is the difference from ICE cars?

I am not surprised. Communist economic plans always fail. Leftist communists thrive off of the carcasses of destruction.

Windmills, baby! lol /s

I have a cousin who thinks solar panels & windmills can provide for the world’s electricity needs. He’d have panels on his roof but his wife won’t let him. She’s more sensible but still votes Dem.

Most of the vapor you are seeing is steam, not smoke.

You aren’t necessarily wrong, but that picture doesn’t prove it

Last year I saw a short feature where a climate researcher from, I believe, Hawaii was interviewed. The young lady was gushing about this new computer model they are using, which predicts pretty much the opposite effect that the old model predicted (concerning El Nino or similar).

Facepalm.

I really wish I had recorded that segment.
