Go to 4:50 in the video in the link below. You will hear there was only 5 shell casings.
The Director said there were 8 shots fired.
I think he said 1 shot was the counter sniper team?
So where were the other 2 shots from?

Did you complain anywhere concerning Director Wray saying yesterday that they had found 8 cartridges on the roof?
It is still there.
There were eight.
So in the clip that had the still photograph of the gun being pointed at the crowd..it doesn’t show that moment as part of a running video so cant see what happened at that moment.

At and around the instant(s) of the initial shots (sound) I don’t see Crooks pointing the rifle @ the nearby onlookers (or swinging around to the LEO hoisted up to the roof). So, I’m guessing that happened prior. In any event, definitely the 1st shot injured Trump, either directly, or indirectly as a few claim. The second group (5 shots) could well have been a spray at the stage area. I could have missed it, but still haven’t read or seen what shot hit the hydraulic line, but it being one of the 5 is most likely.

All sorts of things can cause “differences”, such as the angle of the microphone (and case) to the gun, mic proximity to a human body, proximity of the gun to the roof, edge of roof, and so on.
With only the sound to go by, I’d say different guns and / or different shooter in a different spot. But, casings (fired cartridges) on the roof trumps that (so to speak.)
Yup—if we have solid chain of custody on the casings I would agree.
I need more data at this point.
Crooks remained prone during the entire firing sequence and there is a pretty good cell phone video of the whole thing. There are probably several videos. He was in plain sight of a crowd for at least a minute.
He fired eight shots. The first three shots sound completely different from the next five shots. You do not need sensitive audio analyzers to tell the difference. You can plainly hear the difference when listening to the track from the podium microphone.
Does that mean there was another shooter? Maybe.
More likely (IMO) he was using a magazine mistakenly loaded with two different ammunition types and was doing rapid fire because he could not tell if he actually hit Donald Trump in the first three shots.
He paused to check his results - and one of the counter-snipers got him.
The pictures of dead Crooks on the roof were taken after quite a bit of alterations to the scene. He was obviously turned over to the side, perhaps to search the body. The rifle was moved a good fifteen feet away. It is impossible to tell if the backpack was moved or if Crooks abandoned it along the way.
Videos taken as he was crawling up the roof do not show he was carrying a backpack. The story that he turned and pointed his rifle at a police officer is not supported by the video sequence.

this would appear he was shot from behind and a lower point but I dont know squat about forensics
I do remain troubled by the first shot because we have video evidence of Crook showing there was no recoil when the first shot happened.
There is still more digging to be done here imho.
