The Secret Service has reportedly urged former President Donald Trump’s campaign to halt outdoor rallies and other events with large crowds after the attempt on his life.
After a gunman shot Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, officials discussed concerns about another attempt on the former president’s life with his campaign, according to The Washington Post.
The people familiar with the matter spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private discussions.
For upcoming events, Trump’s team is scouting indoor venues, such as basketball arenas and other large spaces where thousands of people can fit, people familiar with the request said. The campaign is not currently planning any large outdoor events, a person close to Trump said.

Trump has held hundreds of outdoor rallies since launching his first presidential bid, often bragging about — and sometimes falsely inflating — his large crowds. They have become something of a cult favorite among his most passionate fans, with tailgate parties in parking lots, vendors lining open areas near the rally and large parades of traffic, often with gargantuan pickup trucks.
They usually include large rosters of speakers before Trump takes the stage, with crowds sometimes enduring the heat or the cold for many hours. Interestingly, the crowd sometimes departs before Trump, who is regularly late, finishes speaking.
Sarah Matthews, a former Trump spokeswoman, told The Post:.
“We’ve seen from the early days of his presidency even, and before that during his first campaign in 2016, how important crowd size is to him. It gives him a lot of joy and energy being with large crowds. He feeds off their energy. It’s almost like a source of comfort for him,” said Matthews, who served as a deputy press secretary in the Trump White House.
Indoor rallies are more expensive, campaign advisers said. But one campaign official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private plans said the indoor events are inherently safer because it is easier to control who comes through a finite number of doors, and there are fewer line-of-sight issues.
“Obviously with an indoor venue, you have a capacity,” she said. “It doesn’t pack the same punch. There’s something about being at one of those outdoor rallies.”
The agency finds Trump’s rallies challenging because of their large, complex outdoor venues. The former president’s large events require extensive security planning, with agents arriving early to prepare.
The authorities have been investigating the shooting and the gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks. While they have unearthed some details surrounding the assassination attempt, they have still not discovered what drove Crooks to shoot the former president.
The shooting has placed the Secret Service under scrutiny for its failure to prevent Crooks from taking a shot at the former president despite warnings from rallygoers. Former Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle stepped down from her position after enduring a grilling from Republican and Democratic lawmakers during a recent hearing in which she failed to answer basic questions about the incident.
This is obvious, Tbhey cut his abvility to campaign by sayng they can’t do their job. I don’t remember anyione shooting at Jill. Wbhy don’t they cut he protgection team and keep her indoors? She is not tunniunbg and doesn’t need to campaign. Trump’s crowds are too big to put in a high school gym.
Jill doesn’t get that draw. Her one at Portland’s Lake Oswego drew about 80 people in attendance. Her one at Charlotte had 70 people. She could do hers in bathrooms.

I posted this a week ago. Told you folks so, I could say:
“Let’s not miss the elephant in the room here. This “Iranian plot” is being put out here now with impeccable timing by the Biden Admin propaganda machine. They want to stop Trump from doing any future rallies because they are so effective; they show up Biden and his minions as the losers they are (they can hardly get 10 people to go to any of their events). Therefore they want to shut the rallies down, and/or inadequately (by intention) protect the rallies from attacks, including any future ones.
The Biden machine and the Deep State want Trump put out of business, one way or the other. Trump must use his own security, along with the Secret Service and/or any security provided by the gov’t, because our current leadership controls these agencies, and the corrupt Biden Admin is the enemy of all of us.
Trump must be behind protective glass when on stage, drones must fly overhead for surveillance, and all gov’t provided security must be viewed with utmost suspicion; however the rallies must go on. They are incredibly effective and therefore that is why the Biden Admin wants to shut them down. Don’t fall for this “Iranian” ruse folks. To our Commie Admin this “Iran leak” is merely a means to an end, ... to stop Trump from effectively campaigning from this point on.”
in Florida, Trump supporters can provide security. I would think that a go fund me for Trump security would do well. DHS has failed to be law abiding on the border, providing info to Congress, and providing adequate security to non democrats. Now the FBI says that we are at the highest terror threat ever. Great job FBI, CIA, DEA, NSA, DIA, IRS Defund the bureaucrats who need new billion dollar buildings. Shame on them for not putting the American people first. His supporters have his back, now more than ever. We’ll be his vigilant and willing eyes and ears.
Besides, most of the presidential assassinations in our history have not been in rally-type settings. What’s the incompetent, woke, gay SS thinking to do about the other human interactions he might face? Lock him in his basement a la Jao Beidan?

So once Trump is elected will the same hold true for the swearing in ceremony and parade?

Yes- these people, the top ones in executive protection— are the best there are. And their role would be dual- to protect and in protecting keep a sharp laser focus on the corrupted (until completely cleansed) “service”. The Secret Service needs to be removed from the DHS silo and put back into the US Treasury- they still function against counterfeiters— rather well.
All of this corruption began under obama- see: Colombian hookers (wth?) and joe xiden skinny dipping and deliberately flashing female agents (disgusting pervo that he is). In addition, lest we forget Xiden charged the protective detail he had living onsite in Delaware (and even iirc at the Naval Observatory veep residence in DC)— charged the Secret Service RENT.... I think Trump should go right back to Butler; Same place. But this time with his own security team.
Since Kamala wants to run as a black and a friend to blacks, The Trump campaign team should put together ads that showcase in-person interviews with the black men that were unjustly incarcerated by Kamala when she was a prosecutor. They could be reminiscent of the highly effective “swift boat” ads against John Kerry who tried to run on his war record.
I heard that Trump has hired, or is thinking about hiring, Blackwater for his security. Y’know ... people who DON’T hate him. In which case, he can tell SS to GF themselves.

Months ago I said that he should hire Erik Prince and Blackwater. A few days ago it was reported that that might be in the works. A company of loyal mercenaries is exactly what he needs.
