The biggest point made by Adams is that, if this was a planned professional assassination, Crook was nothing but a patsy, a diversion.

Crook was used as a cover, so that this crime would look like an amateur one-off...giving the Biden administration a veneer of innocence (except for Biden's inflammatory language in speeches).

This is why Crook was meant to be seen walking around the venue and meant to be seen climbing up on the roof (with weapon and range finder in tow). And why citizens and local LEO were screaming about him.
