It is ironic that the 6.5mm creedmoor is one of the most accurate long range bullets in use today.

Many accounts don’t mention a ladder. I suspect it was leaned against the building after the kid was shot. Defies logic for cops to rely on being boosted to get to the roof if the ladder had been available earlier.

I add only that he pre-planned the whole thing, including bringing a 5 foot ladder, which is just tall enough to get from the A/C unit up to that particular roof. With every security professional saying it was beyond negligent to leave that roof unguarded, Crooks’s whole plan rested on a 1 in 1,000 chance of extreme negligence with respect to that particular roof.
Put that together with reports that someone (probably local law enforcement) was supposed to be on the roof or guarding the roof but wasn’t for some reason.
My guess: the guy who was not protecting the roof told Crooks in advance, or someone else planned to detain, stall or reroute that guy, and let Crooks know about that plan.
