Okay, so we are supposed to believe that a 20-year-old kid “who was turned away from his high school rifle club for being a ‘comically bad’ shot” and that had no military training whatsoever was able to pull this off all by himself? We are being told that it was “a mistake” that the ideal location for a sniper to be located was left unguarded, and somehow Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to identify this oversight and position himself accordingly. Just 150 yards away from where Donald Trump would be speaking, Crooks was able to climb on to a roof with a rifle and stay there for nearly half an hour before he finally started shooting at Trump. Either this was a cataclysmic security failure, or Crooks had some help somewhere along the way.
According to a former Secret Service agent who was in charge of Vice President Al Gore’s security detail during the Clinton administration, there should have been Secret Service personnel on that roof and “someone dropped the ball”…
Before a high-profile person like Trump attends an event and needs Secret Service protection, the agency conducts a security survey that also takes nearby buildings into account.
William Pickle, a former special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s vice presidential protection division who oversaw Vice President Al Gore’s detail, told USA Today that something was clearly missed. “We know who’s there, why they’re there, we have control over those buildings,” Pickle said. “It seems like somewhere in this security survey, someone dropped the ball on those particular buildings.”
Was this just a mistake, or was it done on purpose?
Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino is claiming that an “unimpeachable source” has told him that someone was supposed to be on that roof but never showed up…

I heard today that the SS snipers that we have footage of shooting, were not the actual ones that hit the assassin!
He did have a 2 year engineering degree. But if he did have help, it’s trail is probably on his phone
I have a hunch that the message either spoken or unspoken to the SS security detail was “If you see or hear anything suspicious ignore or look the other way, just let it happen” That’s how the system under most dictators work, as the subordinates know very well without being told what to do and what is expected of them.

A shooter would have to know that by setting up there he was either going to be wounded or killed. He would have no way of escape.

But you have to look at the facts.
Trump was safe and the SS was effective.
If he did not have the SS it could have been much worse.

True, those rooftop Counter-snipers did not kill him.
Crooks got 8 shots off.
He had the help of law enforcement - SS FBI - up until he missed. He probably didn’t know that once he mad he shot he’d be killed.
I can believe that. Those snipers we have seen on the rooftop had huge rifles, ones which I would expect to do far more damage to Crook’s head than what I saw. It seems more likely that Crooks was hit with a smaller caliber from a different shooter.
The kid may have wanted to join the team, then set his mind to another, higher endeavor, of joining a more select group of individuals, men like John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, et al. Would have been unwise to put himself on a watch list by qualifying for the team. He did spend a good amount of time at the local rifle range, though.

The cops weren’t incompetent. They were just up against a smart kid. He got into Pitt Engineering (#45 nationwide). The average SAT score for Pitt Engineering is 1400.

In other words, he’s smarter than most of the security entourage. It’s like getting a 97 on the ASVAB.
Wars are fought by men barely in their twenties. The would be assassin was a mere 20 years old and slim, hence with the agility to quickly get on that roof after it had been checked and after Trump started speaking. He probably expected to be spotted but though they were looking for him, he was using the slope for concealment until he had a line of sight on Trump. Whereupon Crooks shouldered his rifle, which was previously concealed below the slope, and had mere seconds as his head was skylined on the apex.
He was fearless because he must have known he’d be killed seconds after opening fire from such an exposed position. That gave him an edge over the security professionals who for all their training and equipment were ponderous and thinking of someone pre-placed and firing from inside a building (and hence with a exit plan). Crooks was all different, in there like a rat up a drainpipe and did it knowing he was going to die.
There was one guy at the presser the day after they tried to kill Trump saying the perp was outside the perimeter????
Outside the perimeter? That perimeter is is anything within eyesight of The President and a bit beyond.

I’ve been to Trump rallies and snipers are everywhere, including in the hills surrounding.
Security is actually visible for miles before you even get to a rally venue.
I felt safe, as well, unconcerned for The President’s safety

The building 20 feet behind the dead dude is actually one story higher and begs the question “Why wasn’t a team on top of those buildings?” We know the answer.
Moreover, there is a 90 foot water directly to the east and overlooking all the buildings where dead was and he would have been easily seen if a team was on that water tower.

No one overlooking to secure it.
So… a guy just decides to show up at a rally and take a potshot at PDJT… and he looks around for a spot that wasn’t covered by USSS and… well whadaya know! He’s in luck. A handy barn roof with no-one on it. And his rifle happens to be sighted in for the distance to the stage.
Now, let’s just see if he can get up there with a rifle without being spotted. Well whaddaya know! Another lucky break! Wait… he was spotted and pointed out to security, Well whaddaya know! Three times lucky! Security blew it off.
Oops. His luck ran out. He was shot deader’n a doornail. Tsk, tsk. Too bad. Can’t question him now.

Lee Harvey Oswald was 24. He barely qualified with his M-14 rifle in the USMC. His military training was as a radar operator. To this day, people still buy the official line that he acted alone and managed a headshot on a moving target with a ridiculously inaccurate Carcano. One thing about all this I’d like to know, is, has anyone matched the bullets from Woods rifle to the ones that killed and injured the spectators in the crowd?

The news said it was his fathers so SS knows what it was. Early reports said it was a .22 I thought that might make sense if 10/22 but all the news keeps sayin AR assault rifle
