The Secret Service identified the rooftop next to Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania event as a security vulnerability days before the rally according to a new report by NBC News.
The agents failed to secure the building so a man with a rifle was able to climb up to the roof, position his scope, and fire several shots at President Trump.
A bullet grazed Trump’s right ear. Two rally attendees were wounded. One Trump supporter was fatally shot.
President Trump told former White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson that a last millisecond head tilt saved his life after a gunman opened fire on him from an elevated position at his Pennsylvania rally.

Did the shooter think (a) he could get away? Or (b) was it a planned suicide? If a, who helped him? If b, who helped him?
It’s confirmed that the police were also aware of the shooter and that a police officer actually went on the roof to confront the shooter but retreated when the shooter pointed the rifle at him.
so all the officer had to do was warn him to put the rifle down or he would shoot?
Sounds to me like that would be the normal course of law enforcement.
Also why wasn’t he/she on their communications to warn I’m on this roof, need backup, identified shooter here.

I believe the sharpshooters on the nearby roof had the shooter in their sights but were denied authority to fire a preemptive kill shot by a higher authority. Will be instructive to see what the “investigation” uncovers or will it be another Warren cover-up?

Absolutely right. The notion of split duties split between local police and SS and are uncoordinated is laughable. The idea that a rooftop that close to the president is not secured is laughable. The notion that the SS only has body-coverage responsibility and not overall command is ridiculous.

channel 11 nbc sacramento reported that it was his high-school bus buddy that went to ASU, Phoenix; shooter went to Allegheny CC and graduated Allegheny 2 months ago. Maybe there was a trip to Phoenix over the summer to see his high school friend?

There could be no quick getaway with the van parked a distance away. But there was a reason for explosives in the van. Was the van Plan B or a part of Plan A - did someone chicken out of driving the van into a fleeing rally crowd after Trump was shot? Is high-school friend involved or perhaps an accomplice from AZ that would explain the van?

You may be right about an accomplice, but will the FBI ever let that be known? Perhaps only after Trump is back in office, and getting this crap uncovered finally.
I read it was after President Trump had been acquitted in his first impeachment. The Arizona article about the screamer was dated February 6th. Trump was acquitted the day before.
