I was surprised at how different Joe’s opening monologue was to his give and take with his guests. It goes from a “hot take” to something a bit more tepid. It made me wonder if MSNBC has now started writing his openings since his big meltdown.

Remember... Obama is a “lead from behind” type of personality. If his entire career were as a senator, his voting of “present” would be legendary. If he were the leader that the mythology purports, there would be cohesiveness in the party. There’s not. It’s chaos. Obama and many others will play it safe until the political zeitgeist takes shape. Meanwhile, the down ballot Dems will be damaged.
