Higher Taxes: Labour plans to raise taxes on North Sea oil and gas producers. Specifically, they intend to increase the existing windfall taxes from the current 75% to 78%. This move aims to fund their ‘green prosperity plan’, which includes investments in renewables through a state-owned vehicle called Great British Energy. Ban on New Licenses: Labour has pledged not to award any new North Sea oil and gas licenses if they come into power. This policy directly impacts potential developments like the Buchan oilfield, which contains approximately 100 million barrels of oil and was scheduled to produce its first oil in 2026. Existing Licenses: Labour commits to honoring existing licenses granted before the next general election. However, they would not allow any new licenses for oil and gas exploration.

If you think things are bad now...
That's OK, let them show us their brilliant governing. We all know the outcome in advance. The people of the UK have only got a taste of what's coming and it will come good and hard.
GOODBYE ANGLAND!
These are descendants of the same geniuses who threw Winston Churchill out. Profoundly defective genes passed along.
I don’t know what the taxes do for England but the oil should be put on the world market to bring prices down and squeeze Iran and Russia, 2 troublemakers. If that means eliminating taxes on oil then fine.
I do remember Sarah Palin going to bat for Alaskans and getting money for them from the oil companies. It should be a win-win but if the companies get a windfall it leaves everyone else out.
IIRC the King/Queen can “dismiss” the Prime Minister. Queen Elizabeth “dismissed” Australia’s Prime Minister some years ago...1960s/1970s.
Elections have consequences.
The migrants and commies in both countries won’t regret it at all.
If they flee Great Britain, they can move to New York or California and not have adjustment shock.
Put a fork in the UK, they’re done.
Put a fork in the UK, they’re done.
The country with the largest decline in oil production last year was Yemen, down 55%.
The 2nd largest decline was the UK, down 11%.
And that was before any of these new laws or regulations.
Geology doesn’t care about politics. The North Sea has been pumped heavily for 30 years. Empty has no solution.
Well, that’s the sandwich they ordered.
There’s no England now...
There’ll always be an England
And England shall be free
If England means as much to you
As England means to me
“Under the UK parliamentary system, there is virtually nothing that can stop the new governing party from doing everything it wants to do during the next five yearss, especially with its huge majority in the House of Commons. There are no mid-term elections, no divided government, and no equivalent of the Supreme Court. The Labor Party received only one-third of the votes, but got 66 percent of the seats. They will try to enact a radical program for which they have no mandate -”
Within a few weeks, the Labor manifesto will be presented to the King for his acceptance (which has always been forthcoming since Cromwell), and will then be put up in Parliament for legislation. It will pass, since Labor now has a super majority.
Parliamentary governments are built to be activist legislatures and executives. Our Federal system was always designed to prevent action until public demand grows so large that it can no longer be avoided.
Manifestos for Labor and the Conservatives are attached.
Hey Limies! You get the government you voted for!
I hope you like the reduced dole.
UK is already being strangled by sky high energy costs. NG is about 4x what it is here. Recently the last fertilizer plant shut down because they couldn’t afford the energy costs to keep it open— bye bye affordable food for brit’s. We may be witnessing the first time in history a first world nation sinks to third world status— tilling their own yards and eating bugs to stay alive.
Serfs are fun.
I wonder how bad the fraud was.
