There's an open townhall meeting tomorrow evening in the town where the officer involved in the Sturgeon, Mo. dog shooting is employed. It will be interesting to see what people say. If anyone is interested, I'll post an update after it concludes. I'm not going myself, but many people I know will be there, and I'll have excellent first hand information. FReegards!
Mayor had to resign.
Surprised the cop didn’t take the hint.
He actually wasn’t employed by Sturgeon. He was a part time contract employee. He’s a full-time policeman in a different town.
The most important thing, above absolutely everything else, is that each of our officers goes home safely each night. Even if that means shooting a friendly, deaf and blind dog from time to time. Yes, even then.
There are actually people around here who take that position. No further comment.

The claim of course is “officer safety”. But I’m beginning think that the cops involved are mentally unbalanced. Either they are in a constant state of irrational fear or they just like to shoot things.
There’s a video on YouTube of a cop who knocks on a motel room door and announces “police”. The resident opens the door peacefully, and little dog trots out. The cop immediately shot at the dog (but missed).
No excuse for shooting a dog.
You can’t be serious. If a dog attacks all bets are off.
I wax with a guy who shot a pit bull that killed another dog in front of us.
The community routinely votes to murder unborn children but gets up in arms when an over carbed ATF wanna be shoots a dog.
“No excuse for shooting a dog.”
A number of boot-lickers on this forum supported the dirty cop =>

Of course aggressive dogs are the exception.
I am interested in hearing about the follow up.
I support cops unreservedly, buy I still expect them to use their head. This incident drives a separation between cops and citizens. He’s made the police an enemy, because I could not trust this cop and his use of force.
The bane of no edit feature...lol
“Of course aggressive dogs are the exception”
I know what you “meant”, but that isn’t what you said.
Words mean things.
“aggressive” is the wrong word.
After a date, the woman starts to undress and fondle you.
Would you call that “aggressive”?
Would you shoot her? (poor choice of words) would you kill her?
Most dogs would seem “aggressive” protecting their property or owner. Doesn’t mean they would necessarily harm anyone.
Cops should not shoot dogs PERIOD! Would this cop have shot a deaf blind human? Probably.
If you knew what I meant, then it is safe to say that you knew I wasn’t including dogs that were proving themselves dangerous.
If you knew what I meant, then you were simply intending an argument.
I just drink beer with my friends.
