Clark also was not invited on the 3×3 US women’s Olympic team. The 3×3 team was announced last week by USA basketball.
Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard, the 2022 WNBA Rookie of the Year, and Los Angeles Sparks center Cameron Brink, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, will lead Team USA’s 3×3 Women’s Basketball team at the Paris Olympics. They will be joined by TCU guard Hailey Van Lith and former WNBA player Cierra Burdick.
Clark, who was the number one pick in the draft will not be on the team. Clark is crushing Brink and Howard in scoring, threes and assists. Burdick isn’t even in the WNBA anymore.
Clark played against Van Lith in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament this past year. Clark totally schooled her.

Her teammates hate her and she needs a break. So she’s better off not playing. Bur still...
This has nothing to do with racism. This has to do with protecting the most important asset of the WNBA. The league cannot afford to allow her to get into a very violent competition like international ball that could injure her and keep her from filling seats for the WNBA contests. She’s a lot like Tiger Woods when he entered the PGA. He was a selling point that effected greatly the money involved with almost any connection to the PGA and to its market value. He was the greatest thing since sliced bread for the golf world.
There’s tons of really great players in women’s basketball in the U.S. who are reported to be on the roster. That includes A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Brittney Griner, and several more. Women’s basketball hasn’t lost a game at the Olympics since 1992.
They’ve spent a lot of money and time on her being the salvation for the womens’ game and to get her hurt when she’s filling the seats, getting the league contracts, and increasing radio, online, and television sales revenue in the WNBA they’d be stupid to let her get into that fist fight. It’s all about the bottom line. If a purple person was being talked about, it would be the same.

That's a man. Only EVIL calls it a woman.
I know nothing of sports.
Is it possible that this young woman, Caitlin Clark, is good enough to actually compete at the level of the men’s teams??
I’m dead set against males competing as females.... I take this stand due to the unfairness of such a thing NOT for other reasons...
But, a female who is able to compete with males on their team is not only fair but would be fun to see.
It seems unlikely that she could compete at such a high level... but if she could it might be epic.
I completely concur. CC should NOT even go to Paris. She’s too valuable to the WNBA.
Right now, she IS the WNBA. Let the others try to win gold medals. She can just keep making gold. It’s not worth the risk.
Clark is the Jackie Robinson of our day.
Check out the members of the selection committee who picks the USA Olympic team members and it’s obvious why a white, heterosexual girl was not selected.
Odds are there will be a terrorist attack during the Games.
Brittney Griner

I wonder why the Russians didn’t blow “her” cover. When she came back from Siberia, we didn’t get a close up photo of Brit.
Wouldn’t it be ironic if the merchant of death, who was exchanged for Britney Greiner, sells weapons to terrorists who attack the Olympics?
I will pretend to watch because Caitlyn only to then boycott because of how the racist thugs treat her.

“Is it possible that this young woman, Caitlin Clark, is good enough to actually compete at the level of the men’s teams??”
No. Not even close. She is a great women’s basketball player. But news flash, men and women are very different.
OK, fine. I hope they get waxed like a surfboard then.
I hope that CC goes on to set the incredible records in the WNBA that she achieved in NCAA, and when they beg her to be in the 2028 Olympics she tells them to f&ck off.
...affected...
Could it be a wNBA publicity ploy? Think of how much more interest is created in the league with this “controversy”.
Caitlin has a very good game in the league context...but it is so much more satisfying to have her succeed when so many are “trying” to put her down...kinda like the “wrasslin’” publicity game.
