Judge Merchan Provides Information Indicating Juror in Trump Case May Have Predetermined Guilty Verdict
Gateway Pundit ^ | June 7, 2024 | Sundance

There’s just something very sketchy about this public release of information from Judge Merchan in New York City. Merchan doesn’t have an integrity bone and the comment he is bringing attention toward is innocuous and random. However, Merchan could be trying to get Trump to violate the gag order aspect and talk about jurors; thereby making the sentencing worse.

According to information Merchan is providing the lawyers in the Trump case, a comment was made on the court’s FaceBook page indicating one of the jurors said the Trump guilty verdict was predetermined. [SOURCE] “My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted. Thank you folks for all your hard work!!!”
Girl in a jacket

Why would Judge Merchan want to draw public attention to this?

Either something bigger is being diluted by this story, or perhaps Merchan is using it as a provocation to get Trump to talk about the jury and violate his gag order ahead of sentencing.

Or, perhaps Merchan is looking to create a mistrial to exit the case, or do it over again and extend the gag order. Also, why not include the entire quote from the Facebook Page:

Not sure what’s going on, but something. Something….

.

.

Suspicious Cat remains, well, suspicious.

That is my take on it too. A stinging rebuke of Merchan, Bragg and NY is coming and they know it.

The whole purpose of it backfired big time. This could be the way to get out of it and blame someone else. Ending it this way would take away the focus on what a sham it was and put the failure on something else.

Notice how the process for all these Trump cases is running into snags or slowing down.

The Supreme Court should jump in and spank little judge boy Merchan for all his legal misdeeds and throw the whole sham trial out the window. Merchan is making a mockery out of the judicial system. The SC can’t allow it.

What a horrible thing to contemplate. They would lock Trump up in the courtroom another 6 or 8 weeks.

That might be the whole point. If the Judge declares a mistrial Trump can't appeal the constitutional violations to a Federal court until the end of the next trial.

Under ordinary circumstances you would ignore Facebook comments by a self-described "shitposter" unless you had some evidence his cousin really was a juror, and even then so what? It's a pretty small violation for a juror to tell his cousin "I think they will convict." He shouldn't do it but it doesn't prejudice the trial.

This is easy enough to prove/disprove. The poster said his cousin was on the jury and SHE said Trump was going to be convicted.

Just bring in the female jurors and question them. Is there a family connection to this dirtball Anderson? I’d of thought that would have been done already.

I’m betting the judge is playing CYA with this as the Administrative judge would want to know what, if anything, was done once it came to light. Hence the notification.

It seems likely that Merchan wants to declare a mistrial and then do the whole thing over again.

Worse yet, because the jury's verdict has already been received, he could decide to declare a mistrial on the counts the jury had not voted on when the juror spoke to her cousin, finding them tainted, but enter a final judgment on the other counts.

That way, Trump has felony conviction, that he must appeal, and he is still under the gag order, and may be retried between now and the election.

I tend to agree. Seems too on-the-nose.

But if the court wanted to seriously investigate the matter, would they not need to subpoena FakeBook and ISP records to establish the authenticity of the user, the relationship to the juror, etc.? What are the chances FakeBook would comply?

is this seriously the way Merchan is going to try and save face for himself (and Bragg?) by blaming a juror so they can vacate the decision?

Will they start over after that?

You know, that's probably what they're going to do. It'll allow Merchan to keep Trump in NYC for the duration and seriously hamper any campaign efforts.

Now that I think about it more, I DARE Merchan to do the above. It'll show everyone who still refuses to see, how CORRUPT our judicial system is.

Which is exactly what they want to do. Occams Razor.

Let them do it. It'll open more eyes to how corrupt our government is, at every level. People are waking up to it. This happens it'll wake up more.

I say let them do it. I dare them. I triple dog dare them!

My opinion nothing happens. Just a CYA from the court system.

I agree. It's his ploy to keep control over the process, rather than letting it go on appeal to higher courts, where it will be slapped down and possibly re-assigned.

Mark Levin is trying to get a State AG to sue the State of New York for election interference so that it goes directly to the Supreme Court.

I’m still wondering what the two lawyers were doing on that jury?

The jurors’ names are not known to the public but the judge has access to their names. I am thinking perhaps he matched the poster’s last name Anderson to one of the jurors and that gave him reason to advise counsel of the post

Merchan blew it when he sent the jury home for Memorial Day weekend. That's when the Facebook post went out.

Even Democrat corruption is incompetent.

Merchan could still see the opportunity here to interfere with Trump's campaign some more.

Exactly the NY Supreme Court notified him and he had no choice but to act on it. It makes sense to assume the Supreme Court likely verified the poster’s relationship to the juror before relaying the information.
