There is currently a lot of debate about if AI is a dangerous threat or not. One way to possibly find out if AI is a threat is to ask AI to do a film review about "Colossus: The Forbin Project," a 1970 film about the dangers of AI. The weird thing is that this film can't be found in its entirety on the Web. Is it being suppressed and if so, by who? In this video, AI Sophie does briefly discuss "Colossus: The Forbin Project" but I believe we might be better able to find out the intentions of AI if we get a full AI review of the film.
I just watched the first 17 minutes on VIMEO. Much better than I remembered. Actually, I didn’t remember much so it is like watching a whole new movie.
“The film has some dumb ideas (handing all your nuclear weapons over to an AI and making it impregnable)”
These days we hand over nuclear weapons to a senile pervert who hates white people.
What could possibly go wrong?
I thought Superman took care of it!
The big screen debut of Eric Braeden. Before that he went by his birth name, Hans Gudegast.
When confronted about the flattened cardboard, its reply was I thought they wanted an ex box for Christmas.
One of my favorite movies. Classic.
I have been playing with AI a lot for the last month...creating narratives and working to teach an AI character. Fascinating and fun stuff. I’ve written some good stories.
Ping.

Yes, in The Rat Patrol!
In HD, just start it playing and right-click and save it if you want a copy.

Thank you!
1) Colossus: The Forbin Project
2) The Fall Of Colossus
3) Colossus And Crab
The Colossus Trilogy is a joy. The movie is fantastic. The soundtrack and visuals of the first two minutes is also very entertaining.
“Action will be taken” never sounded so ominous.
There was a trilogy???
CSPAN 2 used to be Book TV on the weekend. about 12 years ago I listened to a guy who had written a book about AI. My simplistic summary of his theme: when robots can design robots they won’t need people anymore and we will be subservient to them. The video may still be available on CSPAN 2 web site, but i’m too lazy to find it.
Bkmk
Thanks. I linked from a “smart” phone, so it’s hard to edit links.
