The administration of United States President Joe Biden has called for the rapid deployment of a Kenyan-led security force to Haiti following the killing of three US missionaries in the violence-hit Caribbean country.
The appeal on Friday came shortly after US non-profit Missions in Haiti Inc announced that three of its missionaries were fatally shot by armed gunmen on Thursday night in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince.
The deaths are the latest in months of spiralling violence in Port-au-Prince, which remains largely under the control of powerful armed groups that have unleashed a wave of deadly attacks across the city.
They also came as Kenyan President William Ruto wrapped up a visit to Washington, DC, where he met Biden and other senior US leaders to discuss a range of issues, including the long-stalled Haiti deployment.
“The security situation in Haiti cannot wait,” a National Security Council spokesperson said on Friday, adding that Biden had pledged to support the “expedited deployment” of the Kenya-led force in talks with Ruto on Thursday.
“Our hearts go out to the families of those killed as they experience unimaginable grief,” the spokesperson added, referring to the missionaries.
Missouri State Representative Ben Baker on Friday identified his daughter, Natalie Lloyd, and son-in-law, Davy Lloyd, as being among those killed.

The contrast of the island between Haiti and the Dominican Republic is breathtaking.
Probably the only way to solve the problem is to have a dictator to clean the place up and then transition to a republic.
Or destroy the country completely to save it.

We’ve talked it here before, but this has all the earmarks of another Neocon operation gone bad. Perhaps instead of ‘missionaries’, they should use the term ‘mercenaries’.
Maybe we train, arm, equipt, and return the million or so Haitians currently in the US. Send them back with LOTS of ammo to clean the place up.
I wonder if the theft of Haitian aid money to the tune of $3.6 billion dollars by the Clinton criminal cabal led to this anarchy iin Haiti. Of course we will never know because dog spit gets more attention than the Clintons criminal acts.
How bout nuking it and start over?

Why? What business is it of ours? We have pumped enough US money into that hell hole of a nation already, there is no need to put our troops there too. It serves no purpose to the national interest. The only job for our troops is to keep them there and not here. Don’t Marines have much better things to do than to corral a bunch of hopped up thugs?
Kenya was a British colony. Haiti French. What do they have in common and where does the Monroe Doctrine fit in this? It was a warning to Europeans so Africans don’t count I guess. I’m surprised Kenya has the resources and time to get involved. We should pay the salaries for their permanent deployment. Give them a raise.
Better yet make France pay.
