I don’t think we can have another domestic-only “War Between the States” because today society is more homogenized by modernity and not so regional as it was in 1861. Not only are we homogenized intra-nationally but also internationally, so any internal armed conflict would be leveraged or otherwise reacted to by players outside the US and inevitably lead to a global conflict.

Or the causality could be reversed, and a global conflict between irreconcilable forces starts elsewhere and the US military is illegitimately ordered to intervene (as usual), except this time the egregious misuse of civilian power results in mutinies at first, morphing into the formation of a significantly large, if not large majority, portion of the military into a state of rebellion against the executive.

If the split starts in the US the first major manifestation will be within the military and the split will propagate into our society quickly, then most likely to the globe.

US Civil War II ≡ WWIII

This is a big country. 90% of the people will just want to get through the day. They literally don’t care about any of the things that drive the left and right nuts.

There isn’t going to be any civil war, anytime soon. There is not a single issue (like slavery) that would drive large swaths of the country to take up arms against the other people.

What I think people who frequent these threads don’t really “get” is that their point of view and “enthusiam” are really on the tail ends of the bell curve. Most people in this country would sit out any violence, let alone a Civil War.

Do not forget those movies that came out during President Trump’s term - those movies where criminals were released for 24 hours to create as much havoc as possible. What a coincidence they stopped making them once Brandon occupied the White House.

I used to think the same way - the most of the military and police would be on a Constitutional side. Now I am not tha sure. Maybe those police that are not controlled by appointed leaders. My working int he Pentagon for 9+ years has left me unsure of the military.

I guess I’ll exclude you then, if you don’t know.

Leadership at the top is probably a lost cause. And I know there are a lot of foreigners in the armed forces now as well. My son is in. The rank and file if it comes down to it won’t go woke. A large minority of them will though, I have no delusions about that.

I have a friend, a very level headed and practical person, who years ago told me he foresaw civil war in this country. I was shocked that he said that because at that point, it was largely considered almost conspiracy theory stuff.

He’s going to be a good one to have on our side. Grew up in a very rural area and has been hunting since childhood.

Abortion. The border. Mandatory green energy that doesn’t work (heh heh. Their tanks will run out of juice on the battlefield).

Globalization will be the trigger. Those who want to be under the jurisdiction of the UN, and those who don’t.

That was the first civil war. This time it would be a bloody mess with supersonic missiles, drones, tanks, high-tech fighter jets, and death rays, as well as real submarines that work and are nuclear, and sophisticated eavesdropping methods.

You can’t move buildings around. They have foundations and are attached to water mains and power lines.

Every time the issue has been placed on the ballot…the conservatives lose.

Neither side in Congress want to do anything about the border. They would have done something by now.

Green energy stuff will peter out.

My earlier post said that what “we” see as so important really doesn’t mean that much to the average person. Some folks around here want to start a war that literally no one will go to.

There are many who are clamoring for a “civil war” yet they can’t even decide what the supposed goals are, or who would be on who’s side, because there’s not even clear division between R and D’s on most of the top issues.

There’s also no plan of what the winning side would do other than implement some form of totalitarianism to maintain order. The totalitarians are the only ones who would benefit, and are the ones stoking these thoughts. Don’t support their desires to destroy, then take over America. If you don’t like the direction of the country, vote your representatives out of office.

I mean the UN would be based out of Switzerland, or somesuch, and the UN Building would become Trump World Center II.

I have no desire to start a war. On the contrary, there are people in Washington who would like nothing more fervently than a civil war, so they can utterly crush you and yours.

“Every time the issue has been placed on the ballot…the conservatives lose.”

Every time slavery was placed on the ballot, the abolitionists lost. Had Lincoln not been murdered, the CW alone would not have resolved it.

Neither side in Congress want to do anything about the border. They would have done something by now.

Likewise. Although the House did pass CW 2, which Schumer ignored.

Green energy stuff will peter out.

Not until the damage has been done. If there is no fossil fuel extraction, there will be no chemical fertilizers derived from the natural gas, and famine will be the result.

I pointed out three burning issues that could motivate CW II, but CW II is the Himalaya Hilton of last resorts. The issues, however, are still out there. And the deep state just needs to nudge and prod here and there until one too many buttons are pushed, and we need to be on our guard, not to swallow any bait.

Look at what they’ve been doing with J6, which must have disappointed them deeply. They were hoping for an armed insurrection, and all they got was a weirdo in a buffalo helmet with a spear, and two dead protestors by police hands.
