Donald Trump has held a narrow but consistent lead in just about every poll for several months now—having never led in the polls in either the 2016 and 2020 election cycles. More significant is where this lead has come from. Trump has not improved his share of white vote at all; his improved standing has come from huge gains in minority votes, as John pointed out recently in drawing our attention to a Financial Times meta-analysis of polls going back several cycles. That chart, in case you don’t remember, looks like this:
Nate Silver looks closer at the trend in a new Substack, noting a breakdown compiled by Adam Carlson that looks at voting group and age that produced this terrifying (for Democrats) table:

Nope. they still have their cheating apparatus in place, and will continue to add to it.
As long as there are cheat-by-mail-in ballots, they can slow-walk the count for a week until enough mail-ins are found to put the Democrat ahead, no matter how bad a candidate they are.
Democrats were hoping they would not have to steal another presidential election in broad daylight. They were hoping Trump would not be the nominee, and now they're hoping he will be convicted of one of their made-up crimes and disqualified.
But make no mistake. If none of their shenanigans work, and Trump is on the ballot in November, they WILL steal the election again with the cheat-by-mail-in ballots.
Reading the comments in this thread, what makes the posters so confident that Trump will not be prevented from running in the election? While it’s feasible, albeit unlikely, that he might negotiate a deal and suspend his campaign.

Republicans have not done a good job of educating the people. Too many voters still think that the Democrats are for the little guy. Somehow, the Republicans need to show that the Democrats CRUSH the little guy.

I hope that Trump keeps hammering Biden on the economy. Here’s something related that I would like to see him do. He can point out that twice, Biden has voted to tax social security. Trump could say that when he’s elected, he will demand that Congress end taxes on social security, and that the government must refund all taxes on social security retroactive to 2014.

This is what happened in 2022. This is what really killed the anticipated “red wave”: hordes of women,including those who had often voted R, voting Dem in order to preserve abortion.

Absolutely. Keep reminding voters about stimulus checks to people that didn’t need them, and Biden trying to take everyone’s tax dollars to pay off student debt for lawyers and stockbrokers. Push Biden on the middle class tax cuts and the stupid EV incentives, paying rich people to buy Teslas.
Agree. It’s a losing issue. Take it off the table. Most European countries limit it to like 12-14 weeks. Leave it legal there and it basically kills the issue except for the nuts on both sides who aren’t going to change their vote anyway. Biden is already bleeding support from blacks and Hispanics. If Trump can start to peel off suburban women he could win a Reagan level landslide.
If he came out as pro-abort he’ll lose my vote.

I get the sense that this will be an election like 1980, with Trump winning by a large margin, and with long coat tails that carry many Republicans into office down ballot. And this could well be a realignment election in which a new GOP coalition emerges and runs the country for a generation.
that’s the thing though... it is those minority inner city areas that have been perpetrating the fraud... if the Democrats lose them or even nearly half of them.. they can cheat in those places anymore.
And everyone with half a brain knows that white liberals are a VAST minority by themselves.
I am hoping he doesn’t say anything on the subject. Congress will never pass anything anyway, so he has nothing to gain by discussing it and everything to lose.
I see things the same as you. We should know by the end of the summer for sure.
Remember Trump doesn’t even have to be ahead in the polls to win election, he simply cant be too far behind. Biden is polling 8 points worse than against Trump last time.
