GOP Rep. Ken Buck will retire from Congress next week leaving Republicans with a razor-thin majority.
Following the resignation of Kevin McCarthy, Bill Johnson, Ken Buck and the ousting of George Santos, the Republicans will be left with a razor-thin majority of 218-213.

House Speaker Mike Johnson was shocked by Ken Buck’s surprise announcement.
“I was surprised by Ken’s announcement. I’m looking forward to talking with him about that,” Speaker Johnson told reporters on Tuesday.

These are short term problems, but the long term issue of Ken Buck is solved. At least this malcontent is gone and will cause no further problems.

I wonder if state governors can impose an executive order to impose term limits for our members in congress. That would be a sure fire way to get legislation on term limits started. The fat cats already there, having made millions somehow serving their country would never vote on it.
This would mean a states solution would be warranted versus what would end up being a convention of states which could threaten 2A.

No it’s not funny at all. These people run for office and people vote for them to do a job. If the guy has cancer and he’s dying, it’s an acceptable thing for him to leave early. That’s not the case. He is breaking the agreement and leaving his constituents without representation. He needs to be slapped with a lawsuit PERSONALLY the day he leaves his position as representative. I would say a million dollars per constituent is reasonable.

Yeah the guy is battling cancer which is rough. Pray he is able to beat it but the timing of this resignation makes me think it has worsened.
