New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday announced that she is deploying 1,000 National Guard soldiers and State Police officers to patrol the New York City subway and check bags following major crime spikes in the transportation system.
Referring to multiple recent high-profile assaults as she made the announcement, Hochul said, "These brazen heinous attacks on our subway system will not be tolerated."
Hochul said the program will focus on "repeat offenders, deterring crime and protecting the people in our subways."

How’s those defund police and let repeat offenders out of jail without bail programs working out for you, eh New York?
The bag checks seem unconstitutional without cause or reasonable suspicion.
They wouldn’t need police and national guard if they simply jailed and prosecuted lawbreakers: and enabled the people to protect themselves and intervene to protect others.

It would be far easier, faster, and cheaper to take down the “Sanctuary City” signs, pull in the “Welcome” red carpet and call ICE to come collect the illegals. Plus, the results would be a lot better.
You can’t use law enforcement after you’ve invited tens of thousands of criminals to your city. That’s a fool’s errand.

Won’t do much. They aren’t interested in actually dealing properly with criminal behavior. They just want to treat everywhere as a prison. Well guards cannot be everywhere and people still are targeted and assaulted and murdered in prison where cameras and guards are, and where cameras and guards are not. And the result is still crime and still injured and dead people.
