This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Russia has taken about as many casualties in the Ukraine in under three years, as the USA did in WWI…
…and Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Gulf War combined. From a smaller population, in a much shorter time.
I will admit that my thoughts are based on anecdotal stories, but the outcome for anyone wounded , especially seriously, is not good.
Besides examples of soldiers commuting suicide after being wounded, or being shot by their own troops or simply left behind doesn’t show a pretty picture.
And if those troops do make it home, I wonder what kind of support they get there, and how these communities are reacting to the number of dead and wounded.

The mental trauma has got to be huge among Russian returnees. Lots of nightmares, lots of short tempers, lots of alcohol and drug use. After Russia’s war in Afghanistan there was a pattern of returnees turning to careers of crime.
Just about one half of one percent of the Russian population have been casualties in this recent invasion (740,000 out of 144 million). Since they are almost exclusively male, that is about one percent of Russian males. Excluding children and the elderly, roughly two percent of combat age males (20-50 yrs old).
But the psychological trauma is not just on those severely wounded, but likely the great majority of those who served in the Theater of Operations, will have some degree of PTSD, as will swathes of the civilian population in the war zone.
