This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Lots of hype about Trump and the future of the world. We have something to say
The day before, information appeared in the Western press that Vladimir Putin had allegedly already spoken with Donald Trump. We called it a stuffing and asked to pay more attention to our guys at the front.
Let’s still deal with a number of points.
Firstly, there was no direct conversation between Putin and Trump. People from Trump’s circle communicated with people from Vladimir Vladimirovich’s circle. If this conversation had taken place, we would have written about it.
One of the important points is who should lend a hand first for this conversation to take place. Both sides are interested in principle, but there is a strong belief in the Kremlin that the conversation is possible solely on Trump’s initiative. After all, he is not even the President yet.
Secondly, in anticipation of a conversation with Trump, the AP refuses any contacts at the highest level. As an example, the failed conversation with Macron, which broke down allegedly due to the reluctance of the French side to agree on the topic of the conversation.
Any protocolist [ a person who drafts protocols ] knows that conversations at this level are always pre-agreed on the topic. According to our information, there were no obvious violations of protocol. It is also known that Scholz also received an informal refusal to speak from the Kremlin.
Thirdly, many have high expectations for the upcoming conversation with Trump. Because of this, there are some disagreements in Vladimir Putin’s circle. A group of hawks insists that Victory is near and talking to the Americans could make matters worse. The other part is still inclined to attempt dialogue, but calls for not rushing to announce the completion of the SVO.
From the important point: those around Trump are already publicly saying that Ukraine will not return Crimea.
This is an important signal. But what about the four new regions?
What to do with part of the Kursk region, if it cannot be liberated before the start of the negotiation process? Vladimir Vladimirovich faces a difficult task, but we, for our part, would insist on continuing the SVO, until its main goals are achieved. Otherwise, why were there all these victims?

Not much of a mud season over there this Fall - moving straight into Winter weather. Weather has just not impeded ground Operations much.
Russia had to go to a colossal increase in its losses in order to continue to look like the winning side. If in 2022 Russian losses amounted to about 200 soldiers per day (killed and wounded), in 2023 - about 500, then in 2024 Ru reached the mark of 1,0 and 1.5K soldiers per day
Russian losses increased 10 times compared to the first months of the war.
Given that the hostilities are taking place in fairly limited territories, the overall losses of the Russians are unprecedented. 3/6
Russia's losses in relation to the area of captured territories are growing exponentially. And so far, only the war in Korea has a higher ratio of losses per area of captured territories. 4/6
Any other country would define such losses as unacceptable in relation to the results obtained. But Russia never calculated the price of victory. 5/6
In fact, there has been no significant expansion of Ru zone of control over the past two years. We are still in the zone of static positional battle of attrition. And the winner in such a struggle is usually the one who has a better value: the number of resources * the efficiency

Over the last years of the war, we have often come back to discuss this trend.
A big factor, has been the attrition of the old Soviet main combat platforms (jets, helicopters, Armor, Artillery), resulting in lower and lower firepower - transitioning Russian Forces from and Industrial Military, to increasingly, a Light Infantry force.
There is also the loss of skills and experience, transitioning the professional Infantry toward just an armed mob.
There has also been the innovation of the Ukrainian forces (notably drone warfare), and the superiority of Western weapons and tactics.
The expectation is for the trend to continue, and even continue accelerating, as Soviet weapon stockpiles critically run dry in 2025, leaving only raw manpower to make up the shortfall.
In the last month or two, losses of Russian Armor and Artillery have slowed, as personnel losses have surged. This may mark a (long anticipated) turning point, where Russia can no longer maintain full replacement rate for equipment losses, and their fieldable combat power begins declining.
It was kind of the central theme of this thread - counting down Russia’s inherited Soviet stockpile.
So at some point Russian/Nork troops will look like the Chinese in Korea - charging Ma Duces with wooden pitchforks.
8 Tu-95s flew to launch lines and conducted 2 simulated cruise missile launches. Now reports 15 Tu-95s are being prepared for strikes tonight.

That video looks similar to the Spetsnaz and their training how to throw hatchets while doing back flips with their shirt off, all so very important stuff to Special Operations troopers and worthy of wasting much training time on.
agreed - and in real combat they did not last very long - so all the neat tricks are really worthless.

Perhaps they are trying to gather Intel on Air Defenses and Ukrainian Aircraft response patterns, or create openings for their drone swarms.

For three days now, the Russians have been conducting a major counteroffensive in the Kursk region to drive Ukrainian forces out of the area.
Russian troops are suffering huge losses and have managed to retake only two small villages: Pogrebki and Daryine.

I think it was a message to President Trump. Russia hasn’t launched a mass cruise missile attack on Ukraine in about 2.5 months. So they have enough missiles, I bet. They are hitting Ukraine hard with Iranian drones to deplete Ukrainian air defenses. I think this is all about creating distractions from Russia’s planned Kursk counteroffensive with NK and hopes to advance into Sumy before January 20th.
