Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Sometimes Fighterbomber's posts translate horribly, especially when he tries to play games and speak in code. This one is a mess, but essentially he's admitting he got played, but in such a mixed up way it's almost unintelligible. This is much worse than when he insisted repeatedly that the A-50U was shot down by friendly fire, then proven wrong.
I give a damn about “our” military bloopers and people who gender identify themselves as military corrals.

Together with the crests, they shot down either a Reaper or a Global Hawk. We rejoiced together. Then they saw that they had crap themselves a little and didn’t hit anyone. We were upset.

And out of such frustration, we decided to screw FB a little. Together.

That's how we live.

By the way, based on what happened, there are all signs that the new MO does not yet have feeding channels and nets.

Semi-pokers, which are just about to go into circulation, are raging on the salaries of long-established owners of networks of “independent” channels.

Of course very patriotic. In garlands of numbers of cards, wallets and urgent fees.

This is neither good nor bad, it is so.

Observation.

Our resident Putin worshipers are highly disappointed. Well, not really, as most still believe a Global Hawk was shot down.

“The first shipment of ammunition under the Czech initiative has already arrived in Ukraine”

The Czechs have maintained pretty good Operational Security in their public statements on their Artillery ammo supply program for Ukraine.

By other reports, the Czech program ammo has been flowing for some time now, and has already been contributing to improved Ukrainian battlefield success.

Czechia has punched above it weight with this Program, making an outsized contribution to the war effort. They got the right stuff, at the right time, to make the most bang for the buck of the money they raised.

Just by itself, that Program would cover a few months of the Ukrainians use. But as a supplement to the Multi-National effort, it came at a key time of shortage, and boosts overall supply into reasonably strong rate to counter the threat.

Hat’s off to Czechs! Job well done. Came through when times were hard.

Russia continues to dig deeper into their domestic oil industry and the population’s standard of living, to pay Putin’s war bills.

OilPrice.com reports:

“In a significant rebound, Russia’s oil and gas revenues for June are projected to increase by over 50% year-on-year, reaching $9.4 billion, according to new Reuters calculations. This surge comes after a reduction in refinery subsidies”...

(How much of the revenue increase came from reducing their domestic subsidies, is not stated. Effectively, that is an additional tax on Russian consumers and refiners)

...”The projected increase in June revenues, up from 794 billion rubles in May and 529 billion rubles in June 2023”...

(note that the 50% year over year increase is in rubles, not dollars)

“The Finance Ministry’s anticipated report on July 3 will provide detailed insights into these financial trends. The 2024 federal budget anticipates oil and gas revenues to rise by 21% from 2023, following a year marked by lower oil prices and reduced gas exports.

Despite the economic strains, Russia has continued to sustain its defense expenditures, resulting in consecutive annual budget deficits of over 3 trillion rubles, approximately 2% of GDP. These deficits have been managed through internal borrowing and (cashing out) the National Wealth Fund.

(They have also been covering their exploding war costs by taxing the oil industry to the point of effective nationalization. Now they are removing some of the subsidies that kept energy prices low for their domestic users, and broader tax increases are reportedly on the way, now that the oil industry has already been squeezed for what it is worth)

President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the country’s economic growth, which stood at 3.6% in 2023 after a 1.2% contraction in 2022. However, local economists caution that this growth is driven largely by increased production in the defense sector, which offers limited benefits to the broader population.

(Beyond just a surge in non-productive Government Defense spending, Russia is also employing communist Chinese-style real estate market schemes, to pump up GDP in the short term, as well as expanding their money supply printing rubles)

As Russia navigates its economic challenges, the resilience of its oil and gas sector remains a critical factor in its financial stability.”

(Russia fundamentally remains a one crop economy - oil. Natural gas is not coming back to what it was)

Most of the submunitions hit the water, one or two hit on land.

Dispersal of the submunitions indicate the missile was intercepted by a SAM over the water at a fairly high altitude.

Footage of the Russian Russian NIP-16 space tracking and communication center burning overnight after a successful Ukrainian MGM-140 ATACMS attack.

https://x.com/Osinttechnical/status/1805136739083661365

This is at least a day old.

What I have not seen is a discussion of the impact of this attack.

My guess is that this com center downloads and disseminates satellite images of Ukrainian airfields.

They could locate the F-16s parking locations and target them with Iskanders and Kinzhals.

Russia has 3 more space tracking and communication centers, so they would eventually be able to download the pictures.

My hope is that every time a ruzzian satellite passes over Ukraine all high value assets are moved.

Comments welcome.

What are your thoughts on Trump saying he’ll more or less force UKR to surrender or lose US military aid? Putin will certainly be happy.

Russian NIP-16 s site is used primarily for deep space missions - Moon & Mars - its mission may have changed, but very unlikely. Wrong antennas bands (32cm) for DLing photo reconnaissance.

Its terribly sad that all the troops that were stationed there were sent to the front and likely dead. Who’s going to keep order in the ‘Stans now?

NOELreports uses the words "American military instructors" in his x.com post.

The CNN link in NOEL's x.com post uses the words "American military contractors".

All other x.com blog posts that I have read also refer to "American military contractors".

Here's my take...mostly guesswork.

One or all of the military aid packages includes provisions that American military contractor corporations (Raytheon/Lockheed Martin) are prohibited from establishing subsidiaries in Ukraine.

This was probably done to gain enough votes to pass the legislation required for the aid packages.

The most cost effective way to support Patriots & F-16s would be for the OEMs to establish Ukrainian subsidiaries who would hire qualified personnel to support their respective systems.

OEM contractors routinely do this for the U.S. military.

Unfortunately doing this in a war zone is the highest risk option.

If legislation is required, this will be a tough sell.

JMHO

The original story said “lifting a de facto ban on American military contractors deploying to Ukraine, four US officials familiar with the matter told CNN, to help the country’s military maintain and repair US-provided weapons systems”.

“””””What are your thoughts on Trump saying he’ll more or less force UKR to surrender or lose US military aid? Putin will certainly be happy.”””””

In that link you posted he didn’t say anything except to keep the campaign ball in the air by saying that he wants to have talks about the war, that excerpt sure didn’t say what you posted.

“What are your thoughts on Trump saying he’ll more or less force UKR to surrender or lose US military aid?”

I believe that it is more a matter of surrogates (like General Kellogg) floating trial balloons (I believe he said “agree to negotiations”, rather than surrender), or opponents accusing Trump of saying such things, rather than it being something that Trump actually said. I have not seen a direct quote that commits him to a definite course of action.

That being said, throwing Ukrainians in occupied parts of the country to the wolves, is not something that I would want to see happen. It is my only reservation about Trump, but I am not convinced that he is committed to such a course of action - he may be posturing for the election, while retaining freedom of action. He did support this year’s $61 Billion Military aid package, when push came to shove.

What exactly is a "de facto ban"?

If this is a policy that Biden created through executive order, then he can reverse the policy.

If this is legislation, then Congress will have to pass legislation rescinding the ban & Biden will have to sign the legislation.

There are situations where U.S. civilian personnel are the only personnel qualified to make the repairs and the repairs have to be done in Ukraine.

The easiest example I can give is battle damage to an F-16 sufficient to ground the aircraft.

In certain cases, the OEM has the only certified personnel to repair the jet.

Remember the incident when a US Navy EP-3 collided with a Chinese J-8 interceptor?

Although the EP-3 was flyable, China refused to allow the plane to be flown from the island, forcing the U.S. pay to have it dismantled and shipped.

The OEM did most of the work.

There will be situations like that in Ukraine...there needs to be a "legal" way to get the work done.

There will be risks...the personnel who volunteer to do the work will be highly compensated.
